There is a product out called the dishwasher filtration system. it filters the water going into your dishwasher reducing the hrad minerals that leave that white residue. it is very affordable and works amazing. it goes right under the sink and is easy to install. go to www.dishwasherfilter.com for more info on it.

Two problems here. Clean out the filter area in the bottom of the dishwasher. Run a quick wash with a cup of bleach in the dishwasher.
The next problem sounds like the water temperature is too high. Make sure the hot water heater is set around 110 - 120 if you want. The dishes could be "etching" in too hot of water. The quality of the glasses or flat wear may not hold up to dishwasher use. Hope this helps.

GE nautilus dsihwasher. dishes are not coming clean. Leaves a film on glasses and utensils.

If there is not enough water, the dishes would not get cleaned. This could be caused by a partially closed water shut-off valve (located under the sink), or a faulty dishwasher water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side).

Also, There is usually two, sometimes three spray arms in a dishwasher. Make sure there is no debris blocking the holes inside each spray arm.

**Water temperature Note***

To get the best results, the water has to be at 120 degrees Fahrenheit when entering the dishwasher.

Concerning the Film.(Disregard if this is not an issue)

This problem occurs due to excessive calcium build up inside the dishwasher. Try cleaning you dishwasher using a dishwasher cleaner. There are a few out there, Try Dishwasher Magic....

Dishes have cloudy film on them

Try this. I want you to run your dishwasher empty, on the hottest water setting. Let it fill and just before it starts the wash cycle put in three cups of white vinegar. I expect your jets are clogged and the vinegar should hopefully open the jets back up. You don't need to add soap during this cleaning process. Works just like when you clean your coffee maker.

Not draining properly, leaving film, debris, & soap, draining through air gap

you wont get clean results if loading a dishwasher up with dirty plates, the food debris will circulate around with the water and keep reistating itself on the plates- as it may not get through the filters. try a powder wash with rinse aid topped up and the most important thing is that the salt bottle is topped up. you may also want to check that the spray arms are not all blocked up with debris.
