Temp water from portafilter

I have a rancilio epoca S1 and the water from the portafilter comes out to a temperature around 65-70 C that I believe to be too low (shouldn't be ideal temp be around 88 C?). I have also tried to increase the pressure in the boiler to around 1,4 bar from 1,2 bar but the temperature never reach 88 C. What can be the problem? Can you please also indicate me what is the optimal boiler pressure to be set? Thanks Andrea

You want between 94 and 96C for water temp and you want 13.8 kg tamp pressure you want extraction to commence at most 9sec into button press an to pour like room tmp honey would. Drip drip start is okay at times but should start to flow by about 10 additional secs in you want it to extract with about 9.5bar pressure and you want to stop full shot extraction by the third colour change no longer than 4 sec of blonding or tigerstriping what eva u wanna call it.

sounds like your element needs to be changed out/is shagged or you have a leak in a weld any leeks water or steam take off housing an inspect

It could also be that the solenoid is of the wrong specifications, and hence not getting up to pressure.. Have them check both the temp and pressure cutouts again..

SOURCE: my rancilio epoca s1 won't start.

HI
Without being in front of it, there are a couple of things to check.
1. There is a reset button on top of the boiler. It is a black top with a red button in the center between 2 wires.
2. The water tank needs to be emptied and then refilled. That is the first things I would check.

SOURCE: new rancilio epoca s tank I

It should take about a 1/2 hour to warm up, are any lights flashing? Is the light on the second switch green? If not you might want to take off the left panel and find the thermal reset. Its mounted to the top side and has a little red button facing you. Press that to reset the unit.
Goodluck!

I have rancilio epoca e2. One side is not pulling a high enough temperature thus not good crema. Other side works fine

The only thing that comes to mind is the metering jet on the group as well as the reducers on the tubes bringing water into the group.

I am using a two group Rancilio Epoca espresso machine and would like to know how to set the water levels for the semi-automated buttons.

Hold down right most button for 8 - 10 seconds, then press button to program when you get your volume press button to stop repeat for next buttons, when done press stop button to get out of program mode.

Water doesn't come out from showerhead once the button is pressed - can hear the water pump going, the top of machine is warm so boiler is functioning.

Does water flow without the portafilter in place, if yes then check grind, if no then remove screw, filter and diffuser and press brew button, if water flows clean filter, if no water then the micro jet in the group head is blocked or the solenoid is clogged.

Have a Rancilio silvia machine, grind coffee with a Rancilio rocky. Problem is that sometimes... more often than not, the coffee coming out of the portafiller spouts comes out quickly and sprays all over...

Try taking the portafilter out and run water through it as if you were making an espresso. check if the water coming out is very fast. I believe there is a screen there that is held in by a flat screw. If you take that off you should be able to see light through it. If you can't soak it in some cleaner until you can see light through it. There could be a couple of things causing this. The other thing that comes to mind is that the boiler has to much pressure but it should say on your gauge if that is happening. You might find that it just needs a good cleaning.
