NO POWER! -- DeLonghi Stand Mixer 7 qt

Just unpacked the new (floor model) stand mixer. Plugged it in . . . and nothing. This mixer style/brand is new to me - so maybe I'm missing something. Is there a safety switch, or a certain order to do things - before it will turn on?? I'm pretty sure this is operator error, but where is the error? There is nothing in the one troubleshooting page of the manual that relates to this. I'm really excited to get the DeLonghi, so this is very frustrating. Thanks, Arfghan (shelley)

THANK YOU, diamaunt, for the input.

The mixer was actually boxed up to go back since I couldn't find any way to get it started . . .

Nonetheless, I pulled it back out to look for a reset switch. Nothing that I can see, unless one is hidden inside the motor casing, and I don't want to invade that.

So, no, it still is a no go. Back it goes into the box to be sent back.

    Thank you for trying!

I have the same problem, but our's worked for 2 years. It just stopped working. I can't find a "reset" button anywhere.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks,

    GM

Just got this mixer for xmas yesterday. Plugged it in and it worked right away - made awesome cookies. Today (the very next day) I plugged it in again and nada. I checked the circuit breakers in the house - fine. There's no reset button anywhere. I've tried it at different outlets in different rooms - still nada. Not sure, but this is awful!!!

    Have same problem.

I replaced the motor fuse, it had worked again but noisy. Now I have the same problem again, no power at all.

It is really a very bad mixer, and Deloghi's service is worse.

Hope this will help who is thinking to buy this mixer.

There should be a overload breaker on the bottom of the motor, tilt it back and look for a little red (probably) button.  other than that, there shouldn't be anything else... if it doesn't  work, it might be defective... Don't give up hope though, those mixers, (used to be Rival, and made by Kenwood in europe) are *SOO* much better than Kitchenaid, it's not even funny *Grin* and good luck.

Where would I find a bowl lift replacement mechanism for a kitchenaid 5 qt mixer model K5SSWW.I have a kitchenaid 5 qt mixer model K5SSWW. I need a bowl lift mechanism replacement part but can't find this...

The model number seems to be valid-but given the age of the unit few parts are readily available. You might want to try eBay or a used appliance store (or even Goodwill) to find a donor machine.

Hi,
The best you can do is to send it right back and make them fix it right... there is nothing you can do with that motor to make it run better..

I can only imagine you have a shop display machine and they took the plug off. Otherwise it should be obvious.
