PHONO requires a phono-equipped receiver, which the STR-DE598 appears to NOT be. AUX will not work because it requires Line Level inout. Traditional old-school turntables put out a very tiny drastically-altered signal which needs preamplification to raise it and flatten it out for use by downstream circuitry. THAT is the job of the PHONO section in a preamp or receiver. You need to find a phono preamp or an older receiver to run the TT through. You could slave it to the STR through its AUX then.

I cannot get my Technics Sl D1 direct drive turntable to work with my 5.1 JVC 5032 V Receiver Amp. Via the Aux input on rca cables. My name is Sunny Naidoo from Pietermaritzburg South Africa.

Aux inputs typically require line level audio signals. If there is no phono input on the JVC you can buy external phono amps that will solve the problem

How can i put my technic turntables to my amp and connect amp to my pc

Hi, connect to amp using phono inputs on rear panel. If no phono dedicated inputs you can connect to aux or cd inputs however the volume output from your amp will be low. A preamp will fix that. Connect from the record out plugs on the rear panel panel to the mic input on your computer. You will need a rca to 3.5mm jack cable. Cheers john. Styluscity

Hook up an iPod to Beosound2000 system??

There is an Aux input on the B & O. you can connect the I-pod to through this input. You will need a 3.5mm phono to 2 RCA cable connector. The phono jack goes to the I-pods headphone socket and the RCA ( Red & White ) jacks goes to the B & O Aux input.bobhifi_28.jpg

How to hook it to a computer

You have to get a 3.5mm phono jack to 2 RCA cable. Connect the phono jack to the audio out socket of your PC ( green socket at the back of the PC if its a desktop or headphone out socket of your Laptop ) and then the 2 RCA plugs to the CD or Axillary input of the Receiver. You can also use the Video Aux input on the front of some Receivers. Just ignore the yellow socket.bobhifi_2.jpg

Bose 151 main with amp

Does your tv have stereo outputs? if yes all you have to do is run RCA red..white jacks into tv outtput then run the other ends into the amps tape or aux or cd input and your done! If you dont have outputs on tour tv you will have to but an RF converter box (about 20.00 at wal-mart) and hook that into the tv and the cables will run out of that to the stereo!

TURNTABLE PROBLEM

You have a VERY nice turntable! TWO quick questions: 1) How do you define "minimal" volume? It is not NECESSARILY unusual that your turntable / receiver combination will have lower volume than your tuner, CD or DVD player. What happens when you CRANK IT UP?! Don't worry about the position of the volume control! 2)Are you changing the turntables output settings via the switch under the platter? Please post a reply and we'll go to the next step! Note: Ceramic cartridges are pretty much extinct. They were strictly low-end, low-cost, low-fidelity devices used in cheap audio systems of "yesteryear". Have you ever seen a BSR or Garrard turntable? Or your grandad's Magnavox Console Stereo? THAT'S where you'd find a ceramic cartridge!
