  • 1. Turn off the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11S.
  • 2. While the IdeaPad is turned off press the small button that is on the left hand side of the power button, it looks like a looping arrow symbol. You will need a small pen or a small needle to press the button.
  • 3. Once you press the small button the Lenovo IdeaPad will boot up and automatically take you straight to the Bios menu.
  • 4. Select the options that you need to change- such as changing the Function key settings. Exit the menu and save the settings. Once you reboot the computer it will take you back to Windows.

Audio static

That's pretty normal with built in connectors. For a workaround grab a cheap USB sound card from eBay or somewhere else. It worked for me.

Default boot order for emachine laptop 732

Step 1:
All computer systems go through a set of instructions called the Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) when they are turned on. The BIOS checks all of the hardware and software installed on the computer to make sure they are working properly before loading the operating system. You may need to access the BIOS menu periodically to find out the current version of the BIOS you have if there are upgrades available. The command you use to access the BIOS settings on an Emachines computer will vary depending on the specific model you have.

Access the Start menu and click "Shut Down." Select the "Restart" option. Wait for the Emachines logo to appear on the screen as the computer begins booting up again. Press the "Tab" key when the logo appears and see if the computer switches to the BIOS menu. Press the "Escape," "Delete," or "F2" keys if the "Tab" key doesn't take you to the BIOS menu screen. Use the right arrow key to highlight the "Main" entry and press Enter. Scroll down to the heading labeled "BIOS version." Check the long string of numbers and letters under the "BIOS version" heading to locate the current BIOS version your Emachines is using. Press the "F10" key to exit the BIOS menu screen and finish booting up the computer's operating system.

Sl510 keyboard and mosuse not working; on screen keyboard and remte mouse works. Any recommendaton?

You will need to replace the keyboard, but since there is a mouse problem also, I recommend the laptop be checked for motherboard damage by a computer repair shop. What ever moisture got in will need to be cleaned up.

No sound coming on my laptop VGN-CR220E

Please first check whether the Vista Service Pack 1 or 2 is installed in the Computer and what is the version of the BIOS installed in the Computer.

To check the information about the Service Pack installed:

Click on Start, type WINVER in the Search area and then press the Enter key.

Or

Please goto Start Menu, select 'All programs', select 'Accessories' to access 'Run' option and enter 'WINVER' and check whether Windows Vista SP1 or 2 is installed in the Computer.

To check the version of the BIOS installed in the Computer:

Click on Start, type MSINFO32 in the Search area and then press the Enter key.

In the System Information window check the BIOS version.

If the installed BIOS version is not R1121Q0 or higher then install the BIOS update in the Computer from this Link.

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNCR220E&upd_id=3618&os_id=28

This is a known issue with a VGN-CR series Computer when Audio may not work properly after installing Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1).

Installing the BIOS update should resolve the issue.

If the issue still persists after installing the BIOS update then you may try installing the Audio Driver from this Link.

NOTE: Please first go for the BIOS update as it is a well known issue with a VGN-CR series Computers.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!
