Humminbird 7300211 speed unit

I recently had a Humminbird 565 Fishfinder installed on my boat. How difficult is it to add the Humminbird speed/temperature unit?

Hi!
Installation of the speed/temp wheel is quite easy, here's a manual:
SW Speed & Temp
The new sensor cable plugs into the square plugin in back of your Humminbird....it's the small square connector with 4 holes.
Best of luck!
Mike

SOURCE: Humminbird fishfinder keeps blowing 5v

Hi,

Most probable component that has gone bad and capable of blowing the 5V fuse would be:

  • voltage regulator IV or transistor;
  • reverse protection diode;
  • zener diode;
  • shorted capacitor.
As the 5VDC normally supplies the logic circuitry, perhaps diagnosis and tests should be focused within that area.

Hope that this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Hi!
Since your unit isn't listed in their owners manual section, you'll have to contact their support rep.

I have a Humminbird 565 that is about 3 years old and the end of the transducer has opened up and the sealant has all leaked out. I also have and older one that is doing the same thing. What's up with...

I have no idea, I use these same ones and havve several mounted and they are used both in summer and winter, never had one leak. I also looked up these and did not see where there were any issues with this problem. I suggest you call Humminbird and talk to them, they are usually very helpful.

My fishfinder 565, just suddenly stoped working. We were in the boat and all of a sudden it went dark. Can there be a fuse of somekind that could be replaced?

yes, generally there is an inline fuse on the hot (red) wire. it is incased in a white sleeve that twists apart and reveals the fuse. if its not the fuse check the battery or connections to the back of the depth finder.

Hello, my Humminbird 565 startred to misread the tempereture, when stoped or in low speed it show the water temp 10º c bellow the real temp. The same happens in Fº. The sounder otherwie works...

More than likely you have your sensor run underneath the boat and therefore the sensor is directly in the water. When you speed around the hot water on top is what your sensor is picking up, when you slow, you are allowing the sensor to pick up on the colder water just inches below the surface

In water less than 5', my Humminbird 565 reads that it is .6''of water

Hi!
If the sounder works in deeper water then try changing the unit to fresh water instead of salt water (or vise-versa). You'll need to switch to advanced settings first (in the setup menu tab), then switch to the afformentioned salt or fresh water (in the sonar menu tab).
Alternatively, switch back to factory defaults as these settings are made to work "right out of the box".
Best of luck!
Mike
