KitchenAid Dishwasher KUDC25CH. I have a problem where the Child Lock LED blinks and cannot be reset. If found a few postings on the Internet and some lead to the electronics control board ($165) while others point to the machine front control panel ($130). I'm concerned that either purchase cannot be returned and am looking for any suggestions on how to test one vs. the other. One person on a website (http://www.partsimple.com/9744031r-wpl-r-12.html?gclid=CKaewr_ezLoCFUkV7AodnxAAgQ) noted that they had the same problem, purchased the electronic control board and found it showed the same error. He also noted that he was able to "...used a low voltage source and "rang" out each button, using a meter and observing the LEDs to assure all were working." In the end he concluded that "What may have happened, was the cover plastic may have aged enough to deform and kept one of several of the buttons depressed marginally...or at least enough to disable the unit." Any ideas on how to test one vs. the other? If I have to lay out $300 to ensure a fix, I may as well purchase a new dishwasher. the unit I'm trying to repair is 12 yrs old. Any suggestions appreciated.
