Sony Cybershot DSC-P200 Memory Stick Pro: can't download photos

I have a 4GB Memory Stick Pro stick -- I can see the photos on the camera, but when I plug it into the hub / card reader, it's not being recognized. I suspect there may be some memory encoding issues going on with this card, as I sometimes get the "ACCESS" message when doing things like rotating an image on the camera. I also was experiencing some issues as I got to the end of the available memory, where it took a long time for the photos (7mgpxl) to write to the card; workaround was to turn the camera off and on, but I did lose some images now and then.

So: is there a way to directly connect my camera to download the images? or is there a workaround for getting the card reader to recognize the card? I was thinking of trying to delete some of the images, maybe take another photo, and see if that doesn't fix things.

TIA

You should use maximum 2GB memory stick is this camera as 4GB is too big for it.

Have Sony CyberShot DSC-F707 Sony Memory Stick Duo Adaptor and Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo 4gb When installed get C:1301 error

Hi,

In DSCT1 Camera, the C:13:01 error message indicates a Self diagnostic message. Each of these codes indicates the symptoms and resolutions of the Camera. In C:13:01, the issue is with the Memory Stick being used in the Camera.

The Symptoms are:

Memory Stick Pro Duo 4GB is not compatible with the DSCF707 Camera. Maximum capacity supported by the Camera is up to 128MB. Please try using a MS with 128 MB and check if it works. A dedicated adapter (MSAC-M2) must be attached to use Memory Stick Duo or MagicGate Memory Stick Duo media.

Thanks.

Error message: Reinsert the Memory Stick"

The problem is with the memory card. It probably just shorted internally and is no longer useful. The amount of memory is not the problem, as I used a 4GB card for a long time and my card finally went bad. You will just have to get another memory card and MAYBE find someone to be able to retrieve your data.

Are you supposed to use that big Memory Stick? I think the limit is 2GB with this camera. (Sony Cybershot P200)

MEMORY STICK ISN'T RECOGNIZED ON EITHER COMPUTER

If you haven't been using the "safely remove hardware" procedure you may be damaging either your stick, your computer's ability to read it, or both. Try reading it on another computer. The same thing happened to my flash drive. It began to work intermittantly, so I replaced it. I now use the "safely remove hardware" procedure and have yet to have any more problems. I replaced my flash drive, you may need to replace the stick, but format it in the camera to see if this helps.
