SUBZERO 211RFD 'RINGING' NOISE

Yesterday I began noticing a 'ringing' from behind the fridge. Seems to be cooling fine in the fridge & freezer. If you can imagine a muffled alarm ringing, that is about what it sounds like. Goes about 5 seconds & I noticed 30 minutes apart this morning. Each time it makes the 'ringing' 'buzzing' noise it seems to be exactly the same & lasts the same amount of time. Any help???

SOURCE: Older subzero side by side not cooling

At sixteen years old it is almost through its life span. A change in ambient temperatures will change internal system pressures. Make sure the condenser is cleaned well. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean off the condenser, then blow it out with compressed air. Even though a condenser looks clean on its surface fins there may be dust down in between the fins.

SOURCE: Loud humming noise as fridge is running

if you have ice buildup then the fridge may be low on freon.
or there is dust clogging around the pump or fan is not running.
remove the bottom or back and look around the compressor.
see that the fan is running.

SOURCE: Sub-Zero 532 not cooling

Simple think I guess - just pull down a little a plastic fan blade on motor shift it will produce a powerful air flow. Fan blade should sit pretty close to the shift end. ;)

The only other thing that seems could be wrong is that your freon lines are icing up and is cause you to not cool properly. Pull out your fridge and check the compressor on the bottom

Is my fridge overheating and should I turn it off at this point? It doesn't seem to be working.

Turn the fridge off if you can, if not turn the whole thing off and keep the freezer door shut. You can turn it back on tomorrow for an hour to maintain temperature in the freezer. It probably just needs a top up with gas, although it normally shares the compressor with the fridge and freezer. It may be the control panel, or they may have some type of door that opens and closes to let cold from the freezer into the fridge. Sub Zero tend to be overly engineered to justify the price you pay. Also spares are very expensive for them.

Subzero 611 freezer not cooling

Could be but before that check if settings are working. Set the freezer settings to coolest and see if cools. If ok, set to desired temp.

Kitchenaid Refrigerator

Built in KitchenAid means your fridge is in the price range of $ 10,000/=.

Most likely the compressor and condenser on the top of the fridge. That is why you get the ringing noise. May be compressor not starting properly. Starting device issue or compressor seized.

Shut off the fridge and call a local service guy or Whirlpool Corporation. No time to test this and that. Your fridge worth $ 10,000/=. Don't be penny wise and pound foolish.

Subzero model 532 fridge not cooling well, freezer ok

Did u check condenser on the top behind the grill? If it's clean, check unit for evaporator freon leaking. Light....Possibly bad bulbs behind that plastic light cover or light switch - one of them located on upper portion of door frame.

Over temperature reset button keeps ringing and blinking

I called the KitchenAid customer support number. Found out that control goes off when the temperature of the fridge is above 48 degrees (i.e., over a few days, the food would be spoiling). This is not the case for ours, since everything seems to be working fine. They said there is probably something malfunctioning with that button/control, and there is no manual turn-off mechanism. We have to call someone to come and fix it.

Loud noise from the freezer side

The problem is a buildup of ice on the plastic housing (the curved plastic bit) in the back of the freezer under the fixed shelf where the icetub goes. The fan behind this plastic housing is hitting the ice when the defrost comes on.

Unplug the fridge, unpack the freezer, remove the four screws in the back, take off the sheetmetal backing and let the fridge thaw. You can remove the plastic piece after a while and get the ice off (be careful not to remove the styrofoam insulation by going too quickly).

Reassemble and you're back in business, for a few months. I'm never buying Samsung again myself.
