I have a Maytag PYE2300AYW. The dryer has been taking longer for about 2 weeks and then quit with 10 minutes left and won't come back on. Everyone I have talked to says it is probably the thermal fuse. We can't seem to locate the thermal fuse though, do you know where it is located or what it is located near?

Well start unscrewing the top where the controls are located. Once you are done removing the top part of the dryer. Pop the top cover of the dryer off. Which it was a pain for me to figure that out.. if you notice the back part is loose.. you going to have to pry it out. Trust me I thought I would of broken it, but that is the only way to open the top. Oh yea another thing you might see alot of wires hooked up to the controls. Yes you are going to have to unplug the controls, but what I did was take pics of them. So help me god I hope to have the plugs put in right. Well anyways. unhook the wires to the controls. Open the top which you can open it up. and there you will see it. It will be right in front of you. Here is a link to the parts. http://www.partselect.com/ModelFrames.as...
Today is day two for me working on it. I was looking on youtube on this testing it with a ohm tester. So I'm rolling by Harbor Freight to pick up a ohm meter to test it before I just jump the gun and buy new stuff that might not fix it. I did the normal stuff everyone told me to do. Flip the breaker on and off... blah blah blah ... So what I felt to do is look online. Which I notice this is a most common issue with this dryer. So I feel this should be the issue to my dryer as well. I had it since brand new and finally gave out. Which today I'm going to test it. Then after that go to the maytag store and get parts if thats the issue.. where are you located at?
