1952 singer manuel - Janome Sewist 625e

The ISMACS database, http://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_machine_company/serial-numbers/singer-al-series-serial-numbers.html , says that the AL068209 is a serial number to a model 201 in September 3, 1952. It probably didn't leave the factory until at least a year later. The manual for the 201 is available from Singer: https://www.singer.com/sites/default/files/product_manual/SINGER%20201_201-1_201-2_201-3_201-4%20and%201200-1%20Sewing%20Machines.pdf .

ISMACS.net has a list of when the serial numbers were assigned for a given Singer sewing machine. The AK serial numbers listing is here: http://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_machine_company/serial-numbers/singer-ak-series-serial-numbers.html . AK875360 is a model 66 that was assigned the serial number on April 16, 1952.
The sewing machine may not have made it out of the production factory for another year.

Do a Google search on this; there is a very helpful bog. The problem is, that name was used for a number of small machines -- some metal, some plastic.

Go to the singer website
Go to the home page
Go to customer service--click on it--it will show a small menu--click on instruction manual
In the box put the model number (example 3116 ) & click search
