I had the same problem with two guns out of the box. Turned out that the dividers in the battery tray kept the batteries from touching each other on some brands of batteries. Remove the dividers and should work. You can verify this by measuring the voltage on the two terminals of the battery pack.

Take the rear bolt cover off ( 2 screws) . Reach inside with your finger and try spinning the spring. For some reason the spring will eventually move to a position that when compacted will bind with the bolt pass through hole.

Wow, this is hands on the dumbest question EVER.
You know, no offense or anything...
Look- this is a manually operated toy.
Unless you or I got the name screwed up, or that picture up above is incorrect...
Oh wait, I just looked at it on Amazon.
Two solutions-
1.) READ THE INSTRUCTIONS, THEY'RE THERE FOR A REASON!!!
2.) Pull the cocking slide on top of the gun back, after inserting a bullet. Pull the trigger to fire.
That's all!!!
Oh yeah, 1+1=2, in case you didn't know that either.
LOL just kidding!!!
Good luck (idk why)...
