I put 5 windows in a previous Buick and bought a 2003 Buick because the salesperson said the GM fixed this problem. I am now looking at replacing the 5th window in this 2003 Buick. I figured out how to fix this problem, buy a HONDA!

Well i dont haVe that preoblem, you cant expect things to be free, the problem i had was the window will stay up or down sometimes but with a little force it works maybe someone spilled coffee or something on it, just dont slam your doors or pull them shut too hard

How do I remove the door panel of a 2011 Buick Regal, driver's side door?

Step by step instructions follow with pictures.

Using a plastic trim tool, remove the aluminum piece on the door handle and the two bolts underneath. (T15 I believe.)
: Using same trim tool, remove the plastic trim behind door handle and remove screw using same T15 as before.
Step 3: Same trim tool again, remove the door panel, bottom to top and lift off of the window channel. Watch for the metal clips to fall. Some will. Two go on the door panel and two go on the door itself.

1995 Buick regal 2d.. windows fall off the tracks, it appears there is a small plastic tab that is suppose to hold it into the track all the way up to the top that is worn, is this the problem or is it...

Not off the track

The plastic piece is on the window
regulator, that is broken

Millions of people have been had that
problem on GM Vehicles for decades

Have you removed the inner door panel?
That has to be done to remove the regualtor
& swap the motor to the new one

Get the regulator at the dealers parts counter
& take the old one or whatever you need with you

Don't ask them how to do anything, they escort you
out of the building, or charge you more for the part

The cable has come off the front passenger window. Can't see how it hooks back onto lifting mechanism.

I had all four of my windows do this on my 2000 bville. There is a small plastic piece that hooks to both ends of the cable and slides up and down the rail to pull the window up and down. This plastic piece broke on all four of my windows and let the cable fall. I fixed it cheap though. I took apart each door and pulled out the motor/slide/pulley assembly and wired it back together with coat hanger wire. It was a lot of work, but beat paying 160 dollars per window for new assembly (that would probably break again!)

That white peice is part of the window regulater. You have to replace the window regulater it comes with a new motor to.

My passenger side window doesn't roll up and it slides down into the door

Before the failure, did it make any knocking or griding noises? When you operate the button does the motor make it's normal noise? Did the window become loose and fall down inside the door abruptly? Some vehicles have issues with the "window regulator". This is the cabling device that hoists and lowers the window on the inside rail. Some automakers use plastic bits to keep the window on the rail. If those become loose or break, the window will fall off the tracks. Continued operation of the window will cause the regulator (cables, gear or motor) to fail. If you want to attempt a DIY fix, remove the door cover (a mechanic will usually call this a door card) and see if the window is off the rails. Good luck.

Rear window falls down

The same thing just happened to me. I took off the door panel, pulled off the white barrier, and found the problem. There is a white plastic connector at the bottom of the window that connects the cable to the window and the track for the power-window. The connector has broke and the cable cannot grip the connector so the window falls. Its hard to tell because it will still be connected to the track, its just a small part of the connector that broke off. I have found that the only way to fix it is to replace the whole assembly. Don't waste time taking apart the motor housing, it is a pain. I found, and bought, the whole assembly on ebay motors for $120.00 shipping and all. If you have some tech abilities it shouldnt be too bad. If you need more info, just e-mail me, Im waiting for my part and will be assembling soon.

WIndows don't work and I need to open up the door cover!

First try running the window switch to fully lower the window. Yeah, I know it's already down, but the regulator uses a push/pull cable that has detached from its connection to the window mount. It "pulls" the window up and "pushes" the window down. When detached from the window mount of the regulator, the window motor doesn't know when to quit turning, and so the cable has run all the way through the motor, certainly further than it should be run. If you're lucky, the end of the cable (the end that should normally be attached to the window attachment platform) is still at the motor and can re-mesh with the gears of the motor and allow the motor to pull it back in. When my regulator broke, the cable ran back into the far recesses of the door and tried to seek new paths. I suspect yours has run too far and "found" the latch/lock mechanism and jammed it. By "lowering the window" from the switch, the motor will hopefully pull the cable back out of the places it does not belong.

If that doesn't work to get your door open, you obviously cannot remove the inner door panel with the door shut. So find a used door (same year, model and door position) with the the same color interior at a junkyard. After purchasing the new inner door panel and the two door lock and latch push/pull rods (horizontal), you can cut away your existing panel knowing you have replacement parts on standby. BE CAREFUL NOT TO CUT THROUGH THE WINDOW and LOCK CONTROL ELECTRICAL WIRES! Start the cut across the sill, then pull away as you cut downward so you can see the wires. The predominant possibilities, in this case, are that the regulator cable is still jammed in the latch/lock mechanisms or that the glass rattled out of its track and jammed the latch/lock control rods or broken the plastic levers to which they are attached.

I imagine this advise is too late for you, but it may help someone else. Good luck!
