We have a 2002 gas club car golf cart and we need a diagram of the key switch starter and can not find a diagram to show the different colored wire connections

You need to run a wire to the coil from the hot wire coming from your key/ignition switch. This will ground the coil and eliminate the spark.

Finding a free service manual for that golf cart might be difficult. You just might have to bite the bullet and buy one.

I recently replaced a F/R switch and just happened to write down which wires went where so maybe I can help. The front switch ( closest to front of cart) green/white wire to top contact, white/black to bottom.
Middle switch red/white to top, orange to bottom.
Rear switch green to top, black to middle and white to bottom.
