Washer will not start cycle and provides message to open and close door (says that door wasn't opened and closed between cycles). I do this, hit start, and get the same message repeatedly. I have turned off and waited 30+ min, unplugged, and I get this repeatedly.

SOURCE: Door won't open

If you open the detergent dispenser and feel along the front edge behind the removable cup there is a coloured cord usually red or green in colour this in an emergency door release, by pulling on it firmly the door will unlock.

SOURCE: washer door latch stuck, can't open

ahh..time for "Q" from 007, eh? this interlock feature is a relay controlled issue. Seems that your washer is telling you that it's closed. most likely a relay replacement in control panel area.

Fault code f26

This error code indicates that the door needs to be opened and closed.

The F26 code may appear the first time you try to use the washer. Open and close the door to clear the display.

The F26 code may also appear if the washer has run three cycles without the door being opened. Open and close the door to clear the display.

If opening and closing the door does not remove the error display, press Pause/Off or Pause/Cancel twice.

If Pause/Off or Pause/Cancel does not work:

  1. Unplug the washer or disconnect the power for one minute.
  2. Plug in the washer or reconnect the power.
  3. Re-select the cycle and press Start.

I was washing beach towels and during the rinse/spin cycle the door popped open on my whirlpool duet ht (model GHW9400PL4). I haven't been able to close the door since it opened before the cycle was...

those have a 2 latch system, sounds like the second latch that engages during the spin cycle never quite completed the safety lock , you could try and jumper the latch to see if that would release it, But it seems the secondary latch wasn't working properly in the first place, even the heaviest loads shouldn't pop the door open,

Frigidaire Front Load Washer Model LTF2140FS1. Put clothes in washer, fill detergent dispenser, close it, shut the door, set my cycle hit start then the door lock clicks, clicks again, panel shuts off....

Make sure that the switch for the door is closing properly at all times. If not, unit will not start up or will shut down while operating because the switch has opened.

This error code indicates that the door is not locking.
Is the washer door firmly shut?
The door must be completely closed for the washer to operate. The door may look as if it's closed, but it may not be latched. Open the door and firmly close it.
Were you washing a large load?
Before you close the washer door, check for laundry items sticking out beyond the door opening. Leave enough space in the washer to allow the clothes to freely tumble. Reduce your load size if needed.
fl_doorseal.jpg To remove the error display, press Pause/Cancel twice.
