Access to blower fan on whirlpool dryer?

On a "Kenmore" Whirlpool combo waher/dryer(110) unit mod #110.887322793 I need to get the blower fan out to replace it.  When I take the back off and the drum out I see the fan is inside a black matal "tube" housing with crimped over edges.  Do I need to unbend these edges to get the two halves apart? Is there an easier way I'm not seeing?  Many thanks.

If you have the back off you have to remove the air duct to get at the blower wheel, there are some screws that hold it on.go here and look at dryer bulkhead and it will show you a picture, you have to spin the blower wheel off of the motor shaft,if you look at the blower wheel it will show you what way to turn it to get it off.

SOURCE: whirlpool dryer drum making noise

window.google_render_ad();There are many places & parts that could be causing your Whirlpool dryer to be noisy. To find out what is causing the noises, you need to find out where are the noises coming from.
Start the dryer and let it run for a while and listen to try to pinpoint where in the dryer the noises is coming from. Once you have an idea of the area, you will need to disconnect the dryer from the wall outlet and take the dryer apart.
Below you will find the parts that you need to check when your dryer is noisy.
The drum baffles:

The drum baffles are use to tumble the clothes inside of the drum, in other words, the baffles job is to separate the pieces of laundry as the drum turns.
When the dryer is getting older and if you use the dryer a lot, the drum baffles holding screws will become loose. Loose drum baffles will cause noises. All you need to do, is to open the top panel and tighten the drum baffles holding screws.
The drum support rollers:

These dryers uses four drum support rollers, tow on the front and two on the rear. The job of the drum support rollers is to keep the drum tumbling smooth.
When the grease on one of the rollers dry out, the roller start to make squeaking noises and the roller bearing will start to wear out until the bearing on the roller is gone. When the bearing on the roller is gone, the noise will change from squeaking to a clanking noise.
The blower wheel:

The blower wheel is use to circulate the air inside of the dryer drum. The most common Whirlpool blower noises are cause by something falling inside of the blower housing and hitting the blower when the motor runs.
The Idler pulley:

The Idler pulley is use to apply the necessary tension on the belt. There are two types of idler pulleys, the pulley with the wheel and the pulley with the teflon slide. A bad idler pulley could cause a Whirlpool dryer to be noisy.
The drive motor:

Worn out bearings on the motor will cause the motor to run kind of noisy. When the motor starts making noises, the solution to this problem is to replace the motor.
The belt:

The belt on most dryers is only about1/4 inch wide. These belts work very hard making the drum tumble. When the belt stretch just 1/2 inch more that it supposed to, the belt will start slipping and that could cause your Whirlpool dryer to be noisy.
As you could see, there are a lot of parts that could become noisy in your dryer. When your dryer starts making noises, make sure to check it out before it gets worse.

Open front panel on kenmore 77902791 dryer

Hello Barry Bosik,

Depending on the controls location...
(I think yours is REAR... you have a PARTIAL Number)
Most DRYERS open pretty much the same...

Put masking tape on a putty knife...
(to protect you finish) and push the release spring...
>> About 1 1/2" (inches) from the corner at front
straight back ( do not PRY )... Lift the corner & repeat
the push & lift on the other corner.

ELSE
just watch the VIDEOs
... These folks like to remove the top
(I don't... if it is a belt or fan... I will go the EXTRA MILE
to rig rope or cord to hold the lid...

>> Tape the DOOR SHUT.
>> A couple more screws loosens top front leans out

Here you might want to snap a picture
of how the front BOTTOM keys together...

You must make sure
it is properly fitted during reassembly...!!

If you need the dryer thermal fuse (3392519), that is part 9 on the Bulkhead diagram. The direct link to the part is http://www.searspartsdirect.com/part-number/3392519/0026/110.html?modelNumber=11062212101&categoryName=Residential%20Dryer&brandName=KENMORE . They also sell thermal fuse kit, http://www.searspartsdirect.com/part-number/3977393/0026/110.html?modelNumber=11062212101&categoryName=Residential%20Dryer&brandName=KENMORE .

Other vendors will have the part since the dryer is made by Whirlpool. Whirlpool used the parts in many models.

I hope this helps.

No it will not, dryers with 110 volt plugs heat on gas,220 dryers heat with electric, putting a 110 vac plug on dryer for 220vac,the motor will run but it will not heat
your 2 options are

1) have a electrician come and run 220 vac circuit

2) purchase a gas dryer

Amana dryer model YNED7200TW will not start. there is power, but start button does nothing. Resetting breaker did not work. Any ideas?

Thermal Fuse

Item #2986 (OEM Part)
$10.70

Thermal fuse. If the dryer overheats, this device stops the flow of electricity to the heat source and/or the entire dryer. It is located on the blower housing and cannot be reset. The most common cause for overheating is a vent tube clogged with lint, a birds nest or other debris.
