Acurite Manuals RE Model 00827 I put new batteries in the indoor station but now it won't read the output from the remote sensor. Remote sensor batteries are fine... and the red light still blinks. Suggestions? Thanks

SOURCE: I have an Acurite 822-RX thermometer that shows HH

HH means it is showing the high temperature you (most likely accidentally) set with the MAX MIN / + button, which is easy to do when setting the clock. Just press that button again until the reading appears.

SOURCE: Wireless thermo clock not reading outside temp

I've had a similar problem with another model, an Oregon Scientific Model IWA-80055 Wireless Thermo Clock, in which when I replaced the batteries in the remote sensor, the clock would not read the temperature from the remote sensor.
I found it fairly consistent to solve this by taking a battery out of place in the clock and putting it back in.  Unfortunately this also messed up the clock's time and date.  This is also in the instructions catalogue for the device, check and see if yours gives a similar solution.

SOURCE: Sony KV-35S66

I have had a similar problem for three years with my KV-35S66 (purchased 12/99). With my TV, I get no picture and the red LED flashes, but it doesn't cut out -- it will keep on blinking. Sound comes through fine.

My fix is to put a space heater right in front of the TV for an hour or two, then turn the TV on (or off and then on again).

It appears to be something in the electronics that needs to be warm to work properly (loose connection that expands when heated?). Once the TV is on , the TV stays warm enough to keep the picture (i.e., you can remove the space heater). I just leave the TV on constantly (it is in the basement and doesn't bother me, and my satellite displays a screen saver). TV is otherwise fine and the electric cost is much less than buying a new TV.

You could turn off and then heat up when needed, I suppose, but that takes some planning ahead.

AcuRite Professional Weather Center 01602BPDI. It eats the outside batteries. Batteries last about 2-3 months till low battery power shows inside with -40 degrees plus other false readings.

My National Geographic Weather Station is the opposite. The outside sensor only indicates the temperature, but the single CR2023 battery lasts a year. The inside unit on my desk lasts around 5 - 6 months and lets me know if needs a battery by showing the outside temperature as ' -- '

Although the manual says 'rechargeable batteries are not recommended', I would try 4 Sanyo Eneloop batteries. Or you could contact Acurite Support and ask them if your battery use is excessive?

Why can't I receive input from the outside sending unit?

Make sure that all the batteries are good!!
This procedure outlines the typical process to pair the sensor and base.
Base Station Battery Installation

·Remove the printed vinyl label from the LCD screen of the base station
·Position the remote sensor near the base station
·Open the battery compartment at the back of the base station and insert (2) AA batteries according to the polarity markings. Replace the battery compartment cover.
·Within a short time the RF signal icon (located to the left of the outdoor temperature channel indicator) will start flashing. This indicates that the base station is ready to pick up the RF outdoor temperature signal from the remote sensor. It will continue to flash for 3 minutes or until the signal from the remote sensor is detected.

Register the Remote Sensor
·Open the battery compartment at the back of the remote sensor and slide the channel selector switch to your desired channel. For the first remote you may select any channel, for additional remotes select any unused channel
·Insert (2) AAA batteries according to the polarity markings. Be sure to install the batteries in the remote within the time that the RF signal icon is flashing on the base station. 1541 WeatherGuide Wireless Weather Forecaster with Barometer

I have an Acurite 822-RX thermometer that shows HH as the outdoor temp, even after replacing the batteries in both the base and remote units. How can it be fixed or reset?

Usually those symbols mean your out of range of the instruments range . Do you have the sensor in direct sun light ? There may also be a defect I would try to contact them

Acurite wireless weather will not work new last season all new lithium batteries in right and were checked no picture #'s on screen

Hi Jerry,

While lithium batteries are recommended for the outdoor sensor it is not recommended they be used in the indoor display unit. Try using a good quality, fresh alkaline batteries and you should find your display turns back on.

Outside temp does not read new batterys in both inside & outside unit

Double check the batteries to make sure they are installed correctly. If one of the batteries in the outdoor sending unit is in backwards, it will not send the outdoor data. On the indoor unit, there is typically one battery that is used for receiving the signal from the outdoor unit. If all of the batteries are in correctly but that one, you will see the display and the indoor temperature information, but the outdoor information will not be displayed.
