If your tv has a VGA input (the blue one) and your computer has an open VGA out then you can just connect them and change your TV input to VGA. If you don't have an open VGA out on your computer then you could buy a splitter and do the same. The same thing would apply to either HDMI or DVI (the white one). Hope this helps.

Sounds silly but try another HDMI cable, they are not all the same, be sure the TV is set to the proper HDMI port before proceeding.
Then give er a go. The computer needs to detect the HDMI cable properly before it can initialize it, if its not set the right port(on the TV first) the computer cannot identify the signal type and can throw an error. Hope that helps, just a couple ideas off the top.
Try the support section of the Fujifilm website. But if you just connect to the computer without drivers, it should just see the camera as a storage drive and let you get at the pictures anyway.
