How do i refill a bobbin 7 thread machine

Threading the Baby Lock BL2400 sewing machine can be done by following these steps:
1. Raise the presser foot: Lift the presser foot lever to raise the presser foot.
2. Thread the upper thread: Take the thread spool and place it on the spool pin at the top of the machine. Follow the numbered threading path indicated on the machine or in the instruction manual. Typically, the thread will go through a series of thread guides, tension discs, and the take-up lever. Make sure the thread is properly seated in each guide and tension disc.

Make sure the bobbin thread is comming off the bobbin in the correct direction. Usually clock wise. If it is not, the machine will not stitch, or will tangle the thread.

Remember to use the Elna 7 hole dished metal bobbins, there are 7 holes on the top, and looks like this

Always wind it and insert it into the machine this way. Don't use any other bobbin. Standard needles 130/705H, flat shank to the back.

Check out my other tip on bobbin winding too, it is important to keep tension onto the thread spool that you are winding thread off as the machine doesn't tension the thread for you. So you need to apply pressure to the top of the thread spool as you wind off, use the curved handle of your scissors on the top of the spool.

Is this a Swiss made Elna Lotus with top loading bobbin (check machine plate on right beside power inlet for manufacture details) ? (the original Lotus was released back in 60's but that name has been reused on a number of different models since, some made under licence elsewhere) If yes, then the following applies:

Bobbin should have holes on one side only, always wind it with the holes on top and load it into the bobbin holder the same way so it is rotating anti clockwise when you pull the thread.

Drop wound bobbin into bobbin holder and, while holding the bobbin still with one finger, pull the thread tail towards you into the tension spring, then press down on the thread until you hear it "Click" into the tension spring.

Then hand wind the fly wheel towards you while holding the top thread tail to catch the bottom thread and bring it up to the top needle plate, close the back sliding plate over the bobbin.

Other thing with these machines is ALWAYS hold the two thread tails firmly when you start a new seam so the threads don't get pulled down into the bobbin holder area. Really important.

If it is not Swiss made one, then your bobbin may be vertical front loading (like the Brothers).

There are threading diagrams for lots of machines at www.sewusa.com, there might be one there that covers your machine.

make sure your bobbin is threaded correctly from the spool and through the eyelet. with 4 or 5 inches of thread coming out of the bobbin and install the bobbin. Then, hold onto the end of the thread that is threaded through the needle while you manually rotate the spinner allowing the needle to drop all the way down and backup again . If everything is right, your needle thread will come up with the bobbin thread as you slowly pull on the needle thread and rotating the spinner . Make sure you rotate the spinner wheel the same direction it normally rotates while running .

I've lost the manual to the Singer Tiny Tailor mending machine M100A and need to know how to refill the bobbins. Can you help me?

Hello, I have a Designer 1 and an SE.
You did not say what you are doing when this happens.

When this happens to me, it is usually because the feed dogs are unable to advance the fabric. If I am mending and using the zigzag and get a lump in the mend, the fabric hangs and if I keep sewing, I will get a huge nest.

I have found that listening to the machine can tell you when something is not right and you can stop it before you get a huge nest.

Here is what I would do-
1. Un thread the machine and re thread. Make sure you are in the take up hook. The silver metal hook that goes up and down and advances the thread.
2. Check that the bobbin is not wound too much. This can be adjusted by turning the white button adjacent to the bobbin winder.
