541678 is the bobbin case you want. Most sewing machine dealers can get this part for you. The machine was made from 1978 to 1984. Before you spend a lot of money repairing this machine, check,or have someone else check, the cam drive gears in the top of the machine. They frequently crack and cause a lot of noise and some erratic stitching.

.janome 344lx bobbin stuck at top of cycle...bobbin handle appears to hit casing. Needle goes through cycle without bobbin. Worked last time 6 months ago. Any ideas?

Hello Harwood
From the pic, the bobbin is inserted incorrectly .... this is the cause for the challenge.
Insert the bobbin inside the bobbin case, so that the 'finger' of the bobbin case fits at 12 o'clock into that little notch.
Now all will work properly.
Please give me a 'thumbs up' if this is helpful.
Happy stitching

The bobbin won't stay in place

Your bobbin is too short. The correct bobbin must be even with the bobbin case. If it is the bobbin case that is moving around then you must adjust the inner rotary hook bracket assy. It must allow the thread to move between the corner (near screw) and the bobbin casing. Rotate the hand wheel towards you to make sure the thread fits between the corner and the casing. Make it as tight as possible without a snag taking place.

How to remove bobbin casing for bernina arista 640

The bobbin case is removed by lifting the small lever on the top of the case (it faces right, when fitted in the machine) and the bobbin case can then be removed just by pulling it out. When re-fitting make sure the lever is pointing to the right and click it back into place on the central shaft of the hook. Please note that you cannot remove the rotary hook on a 640 without completely dismantling the mechanism which is a professional job and must not be attempted by the amateur - this is completely different to the CB hook used on other Artista models such as the 180 and 630

What bobbins fit the singer featherweight 117

The Featherweight II 117 uses the Class 15 bobbin. A 4-pack of the Dritz equivalent of the bobbin is available from Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Dritz-Plastic-Class-15-Bobbins/dp/B000Y3D1NG . Singer has a 10-pack of the bobbins here: http://www.singerco.com/accessories/detail/2075/class-15-bobbins-10-pack . You can buy a manual from Singer, as well. (See their Instruction Manual page from the Customer Support Link then enter 117 in the Search box.)

I hope this helps.

I have been sewing bunting for a copule of days without trouble. When I changed my bobbin and spool, the bobbin thread gets caught up and makes a mess and stops the machine. Also, the bobbin case doesn't...

Is this a top loading bobbin case? If so take the stitch plate off and look for burs or needle punckers on the bobbin case, if you find some polish them off(may need to be replaced.
Also did you use the exact same bobbin that you took out, just had a customer come it that was using the incorrect bobbin for her machine.
Also check your top threading, sounds like it could be that. Make sure to get it in the tension unit. Thread the machine all the way to the needle but not in the needle eye. Then lift and lower the presser foot, you should have tension when it is down and no tension when it is up. If not your machine needs adjusting.
hope this helps

My daughter tried to remove a jammed bobbin on my singer machine. The bobbin holding mechanism fell apart. Is there a diagram to show how the parts fit together?

looking straight on at the area where assembly goes, First clean and oil area, the jam was likely caused by accumulated dust or a small piece of thread . You should have three pieces, four including the bobbin itself. first piece to be replaced has a center post this piece goes into the machine by fitting it to the bobbin area, it will only go in one way so when it fits into place you will know. the next piece is a ring this piece has a small piece of metal attached to the top when looking at it correctly the two screws will be on top and there should be two indentions. first one is at 3 oclock and the other is at 9 oclock fit this piece into machine and there should be a lever on either side that turns around and rests in to indentions. replace your bobbin in the bobbin case ,be sure to thread the case correctly and load into newly assembled bobbin area making sure that it clicks into pplace

Singer 4562 t bobbin case won't fit properly, what am I doing wro

Make sure the bobbin case sets sort of on top and not under the ridge of the metal ring. There is a small latch on the upper left of the bobbin case. It is metal. rotate the latch to cover the bobbin case and this should stabilize the case without making it immobile

Bobbin Case Assembly

Careful now, don't get in too big of a hurry.
The back side of the hook cover, which holds the hook in place in this machine is supposed to have several grooves in it. If there are no cracks, it's probably ok. The hook should also have a considerable amount of movement, or clearance when the cover is in place. Take that away and it won't sew at all.
The most common noise I hear in these machines is a buzzing or moaning sound from the bobbin area. If this could be an apt description of your sound, remove the bobbin case, roll a cotton swab between your fingers until it will fit inside the center post of the bobbin case and clean it out with alcohol. Allow it to dry completely and then put one drop of machine oil inside this post, place it in the machine and run it. The sound should be gone.
