SOURCE: hello. i have a proview mh-462su plasma

The fact that the set no longer allows you to turn it off indicates that the power supply for the power control circuit isn't supplying the voltage it should or none at all. The service voltage for the circuit that provides IR (remote) control and probably any set-mounted controls as well, is the primary supply. I believe the high voltage for the plasma display is working but the signal (video) input is scrambled due to a failure of an output (or more than one) of the primary supply that provides voltage to the video and audio sections.
Try following the instructions I have pasted below:
Unplug your set overnight to allow potentially hazardous voltages to discharge, remove the back panel of the set so you can see the guts.
Look for a smaller board with larger parts on it; some cylindrical (capacitors), others block-like and relatively large (chokes and transformers).
You should also see a relationship between the board and the incoming AC.
Check the board for a label or if not present, a stamped-on number.
Call the manufacturer's service center with your TV model number and the number found on that board and inquire about repair/replacement costs; if both are offered, they won't be that much different.
If you must buy a new board, don't dispose of the failed one as there are smaller companies that can repair it for less than the mfr. and then keep it as a spare as this problem will likely arise again.

Toshiba 46 inch regza yellow light blinks and picture wont come on but I have full audio

Most likely the power supply board needs to be replaced. It could also be the T-con board or less likely the display itself.

If you don't know what you're doing, DON'T OPEN THE TV UP TO FIX IT, THERE ARE HAZARDOUS VOLTAGES ON THE POWER SUPPLY BOARD, EVEN WEEKS AFTER THE TV IS UNPLUGGED!

If you don't know how to do it yourself, find some local Electronic repair shops, get quotes, try to find reviews on the shops.

What's your problem? won't turn on..... yellow/orange light continually flashes three times...

Toshiba Regza 37in - 37HL17
TV will not turn on - Yellow power ind. Light blinks three times...
Fixed with a firmware update (hard to believe, but true). Search Google for a file named: 2007SEN069.zip (don't worry if the page you find it on doesn't mention the 37HL17 - it worked fine). Unzip the file, and copy the 3 folders and 3 files to the root of a small SD card. The SD card MUST be 2GB or less in size (I used a 1GB card), and it MUST be formatted with FAT-16 (not FAT-32). Mine was pre-formatted as FAT (FAT-16). The SD port is on the back of the TV behind a cover plate near the power cable. You do NOT need to remove the back cover of the TV, just the small cover plate (1 screw). UNPLUG the TV; remove the cover plate; insert the SD card (prepped as explained above); Plug in the TV; Watch the yellow lights blink, then turn blue, then go dark; UNPLUG the TV; remove the SD Card and replace the cover; Plug in the TV; Yellow lights will blink a few times (this is normal); when blinking stops, turn on the TV and you should be good to go. :-)
Pictures attached are from a Toshiba software upgrade bulletin I found online.

Wont turn on but yellow light is flashing

I followed the steps at the following link and it worked for me. I have a 2007 Toshiba Regza 42HL67, but the firmware applies to many models as documented in the readme file at the location found via the link below. I used a 1gb SD card formatted FAT16, copied the unzipped files and folder to the card (wasn't sure if it required the top level folder or only the files under the top level folder so I copied both to the root of the SD card), unplugged the TV, inserted the card, plugged in the TV, waited 2.5 minutes, unplugged the TV, removed the card, plugged in the TV, yellow light flashed 3 times and went out. I turned on the TV and it has worked normally since last night.

LG 42 LCD no sound or picture

Did anyone find out the solution for this??????? I have the exact same problem with my LG 32 LCD. I only had it for a year and a half, and the green light blinks a few times and it shows no picture. Not even a red light when the tv is off. The same thing happened a couple weeks ago and by some miracle it started working again.

Samsung lcd tv ltm1755b won't turn on (power light stays red)

Problem: Samsung LTM1755B with only a blinking yellow LED when you try to turn it on.

Solution: I just had one of these come in. I opened it up, and found the U501 capacitor a little suspicious looking, in that it had a deformed top. It was a 470uF 16V electrolytic 105degC 10mm x 12mm. I replaced it with a very good quality 1000uF 16V electrolytic 105degC 10mm x 16mm Nichicon UHN1C102MPD. After that repair, when I tried to turn it on, the LED was yellow for a second, then green, then I got a picture, and it appeared to work great. I then asked the owner a week later how it was working, and they said it was working just like new!
