If
you have windows set to do automatic updates, you most likely had a
windows update installed that caused this conflict with Win Media
Player 11. No fix has been posted by Microsoft yet, so the only
workaround is to Uninstall/Rollback Windows Media Player 11. Goto
<Control Panel<Add/Remove Programs and remove Windows Media
Player 11. Follow prompts, restart computer when prompted to. Also
uninstall Windows Media Player 11 Runtime application following same
procedure above.
This will roll your Windows Media Player back to version 10 or 9,
whichever you had installed prior to version 11. You will need to
re-configure Windows Media Player again.
Your Zen should now be recognized by WMP and Creative software. You
probably need to upgrade your firmware at this point, follow the
instructions on upgrading your firmware, and you should be good to go.
This is a windows problem, not a creative problem. Dont blame Creative
for the screwed up hotfixes that Microsoft puts out on a regular basi
if you don't have the kind of charger that goes directly into the dock connector, the zen vision needs a 5V charger ( it happens to be compatible with the PSP charger). if you just plug it into a usb cord it will not charger. you may also need the little white adapter piece the goes into the dock connector. i know only one place that sells older creative zen accessories and repairs creative zen visions . if you have all of that: i assume you pressed the little reset button on the bottom, it may just be frozen? if that doesn't work and you are sure you're charging it right, your logic board is dead.
When you let the battery totally run down on these, it has to sit and charge, looking quite dead, for a little while before it has enough of a charge to boot-up again.
Hi there, you need to purchase the accessory which has the usb 2.0, DC in and A/V out on it. This is the accessory that allows you to plug your Zen into the TV to play the movies.
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
Zen V is dead "If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause." Have you only been attempting using a USB port to charge it? I just fixed my problem. I have a wall charger from the Creative Zen Touch that worked perfect on it when the USB didn't do a thing. Usually I'm able to charge it with my RAZR phone charger in the wall but that didn't work and neither did my computer charger via USB but I tried the old wall charger and it seemed to do the trick. If you don't have one, they have them on amazon, here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Zen-Vision-Travel-Charger/dp/B000GWLL0K/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/105-1441709-3982806?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1185509740&sr=8-2
or for the old one that I have:

Hope this helps!
