When I embroider with my Pfaff Creative 2 the top tension pulls bobbin thread up too much. I changed toe tension on top but it still does the same thing. How can this be fixed?

Suggest you do rethreading ,then test the stitches on straight stitch. If top stitches is loose you have to reduce the upper thread tension, if the bottom stitches is loose you have to increase the upper thread tension. Adjust accordingly till you can get a perfect straight stitch. If okay then you can continue your embroidery work.

SOURCE: thread or bobbin tension

Thread tension. Beware of adjusting the bobbin screw. Pfaffs maintain their tensions just fine without adjusting the bobbin tension, unless you're using some crazy thick or fine thread. If you must change your bobbin tension, you would be well-advised to buy an extra bobbin case, because re-calibrating your tensions after changing them can be less than fun.

Increase your top tension, and your looping should cease. I normally keep my tension around 4.5. Also make sure you're using a good quality thread, and that there's nothing in the upper tension assemblies. Sometimes a tiny piece of debris can keep the top tension from applying enough tension, so turning the machine off and blowing some canned air in there can help as well.

Good luck,

SOURCE: Tension Problem on Pfaff 2034, bobbin loops

Rule of thumb.. Loops on the bottom, problem on the top. Loops on the top, problems on the bottom.

Set your upper tension at 4, and rethread the machine from the top. Just before you thread the needle, but the presser foot down. If the thread pulls right thru easily, then the thread is not thru the tension wheel right. Because, if you can't pull the thread thru with the presser foot down, you have it threaded right.

SOURCE: Pfaff Select 4.0 has looping on bottom of fabric, free motion qui

Make sure your are lowering the pressure foot first before you start sewing. With the free motion foot, you still have to lower the pressure foot, this allows tension to be put on the top thread and allows the foot to work properly (when the needle goes down so should the foot and when the needle comes up it should lift the foot up.)

Also make sure your tensions are in a middle setting and that you are threading the machine with the pressure foot up.

The way to insure you will not get your problem is with the foot up, you should be able to pull the thread easily right before the eye of the needle and when you put the foot down you should then feel a fair bit of tension on the top thread.

hope that helps :)

Having a problem with bobbin thread showing through while trying to embroider on my pfaff 7570

Usually, slightly tightening the bobbin thread, and/or loosening the top thread solves this problem. Make sure there is no fluff in the bobbin area, clean and oil regularly. Experiment with these tension adjustments and make a note of what you did and what works.

I need to access the tension plates on my Pfaff creative 7570

To access the tension disks, remove the top of the machine as follows: 1. With the carrying handle raised, remove the cover (the piece that has all the stitches pictured). 2. Unscrew 2 screws completely; one is in the depression where the thread spool goes and the other is right behind the bobbin winder. 3. pull straight up. You may have to jiggle it a bit. 4. you should be able to see the tension disks from here.

On what number should I put 7570 tention when

Refer to the manual. If you do not have a manual, start at 4 and work your way through the numbers, bit by bit until you get good results.

The bobbin thread should pull the top thread slightly under and to the back.

Machine embroidery bobbin thread is heavier than the standard size machine embroidery top thread and this also helps to pull the top thread to the back.

I have a 7570 and cannot get the tension the bottom thread is loose and can be pulled right thru I checked the top and adjusted the bottom and nothing seems to change.

When you thread your bobbin in the bobbin case, hold it only by the thread. If the bobbin and bobbin case fall, the tension is too loose. If this is the case, turn the bobbin tension screw 1/4 turn until the bobbin and bobbin case do not fall when only holding by the thread. The top tension should be set between 4 and 5. The best way to see which one needs to be adjusted is to do a zigzag. If the thread is pulling more on top and your top tension is set between 4 and 5, the bobbin tension is too loose. If your top tension is set between 4 and 5 and it's pulling on the bottom, the bottom is too tight.

My Pfaff sewing machine has started to loop the top thread underneath. Tried fixing the tension on the bobbin thread as they state in the manual, but the problem still persists. Any suggestions?

If the thread is looping underneath, you're top tension may be too loose or the thread may not be in the take-up lever. If it's looping on top, double check that the thread is in the bobbin tension or that the bobbin tension isn't too loose.

PLEASE HELP!!! Pfaff creative 7570 tension problems

Check your bobbin tension also. Embroidery bobbin thread is finer than sewing thread and you may need to make adjustment on the bobbing case by turning the small screw slightly. The type of stabilizer can affect your embroidery. An excellent reference for machine embroidery is Embroidery Machine Essentials by Jeanine Twigg, available on Amazon.
