I had started the engine. The power seemed weak, so I decided to check the batterines. I disconnected the negative post leads to wait and see if one of the batteries discharged on its own. I had found a loose connection, but proceeded with the battery check anyway. After almost 45 minutes, it appeared they were holding charge above 12 volts. At 12.3, I loose all accessory power, so I hooked up the jumper cables. Accessory power came back, so I turned on the key. A code of ECU 128 came on the dash display. The engine cranked strong, but no fire for the engine. Is there a fuse for the ECU, and if so, where would it be? I check the fuse box, now I am clueless. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOUR PROBLEM MAY NOT BE THE FUSE TO THE E.C.U. TRY THIS. 1. TURN ON THE KEY AND LOOK FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT (USUALLY YELLOW) AND THE STOP ENGINE LIGHT (USUALLY RED) WHEN YOU FIRST TURN ON THE KEY THEY SHOULD COME ON. AFTER ABOUT 5 SECONDS OR SO THEY SHOULD GO OFF. WAIT!!!!! ANOTHER 5 SECONDS AND SEE IF THEY COME ON. IF NOT TRY STARTING THE ENGINE.
IF THESE LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON WHEN YOU TURN ON THE KEY THEN CHECK THE WIRE THAT LEADS FROM THE POSITIVE SIDE OF ONE OF THE BATTERIES AND CONNECTS TO THE ECU.
IF THIS IS LOOSE IT WILL CAUSE THIS PROBLEM. THERE ALSO MAY BE AN INLINE FUSE ON THIS WIRE TO PROTECT THE ECU CHECK THE FUSE.
IF THE LIGHTS WENT OFF AND CAME BACK ON THEN YOUR ECU IS SHOWING A FAULT CODE. WITH THE ENGINE OFF AND THE KEY ON, PUSH THE ENGINE OVERRIDE BUTTON AND TAKE A PEN AND PAPER AND WRITE DOWN THE FAULT CODES. THE WAY YOU GET THE CODES IS BY WATCHING AND COUNTING THE NUMBER OF FLASHES OF THE YELLOW LIGHT AND THE RED LIGHT. FOR INSTANCE IF THE YELLOW FLASHES 5 TIMES AND THE RED FLASHES 3 THEN YOURE GETTING FAULT CODE 53. FIND YOUR CODE AND CALL THE SERVICE DEPOT AT THE DEALER AND FIND OUT THE DEFINITION OF THIS CODE.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST CHECK THE COOLANT AND ENGINE OIL BECAUSE THESE TWO THINGS WILL SHUT DOWN AN ELECTRONIC ENGINE FASTER THAN ANYTHING. ESPECIALLY IF A SENSOR HAS GONE BAD SUCH AS COOLANT LEVEL SENSOR OR OIL PRESSURE SENSOR. MY EMAIL IS [email protected] HOPE I WAS ABLE TO POINT YOU IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION IF YOU HAVENT ALREADY SOLVED YOUR PROBLEM.
Check your ecm wire in the battery box they have fuses in there too, your ecm is not powering up
If your dash say no ecu that means your ecm is not powering up, you will have power and a ground and they are fuse in your battery box if they are good check your power wire going to the ecm and the same with the ground
I want to thank you for useing fixya ,If there was anything more I can help you with please ask,And also please tell me if my info helped or didnt,In either way it is to help you and other better in the future
