Ui data
It means that the boot data has been corrupted. The only way to fix it is to reinstall the firmware, if you can find it. Now, Goodmans don't have the firmware (boot routines) on their site, nor do they have any other support for the GPDR40 (FYI, 'Logik' and 'Ventura' MP3 players also suffer from the same problems, with fixes hard to find) I have seen major problems with nearly all USB devices, in my opinion caused by cheap chipsets and shoddy hard/software in even the most expensive of devices. I believe this is known as 'built in redundancy' or 'built in failure'. If someone has a working unit, open it up, connect the HDD to another PC as a slave, then copy all files and directories (except the media) to another formatted HDD. in the cases of Logik and Ventura devices, the limited boot ROM will tend to reinstall the uncorrupted OS files automatically, resulting in a working player again. PLEASE, someone, copy some working files or find a firmware update. I have FOUR dead GPDR40's, and I'm an electronics engineer... Alternatively, check for support from the manufacturers before you buy anything. I would bet anything that these companies have NOTHING to do with the design or manufacture of these units, only the branding licenses, hence no support. Scumbags.
