SOURCE: Poulan Pro 295 won't keep running.
pull the black dust cap on top there are three screws going down, the idle screw is on the left side (if you were holding the saw) near the top of the carb it has a spring around it. the 2 weird screws under that are the mixture screws hi and low rpm you really shouldn't mess with those unless your sure of what your doing. if that doesn't work there is a really small hole ( and I mean small) in the bottom of the carb for a diaphragm if that gets clogged it runs bad, also vibration can loosen the cylinder bolt turn the saw upside down and there are (or should be 4 bolts) make sure they are tight if one already rattled out take the one kitty corner to Lowe's or a hardware store and get a replacement.

Turn both jet screws CW to stops (lightly), then back out CCW 1-1/2 turns each. This is a basic setting and the engine should start and run. Be sure to check the fuel filter, air cleaner, and muffler for plugging. Start the engine and allow to warm up--pull the throttle full on and adjust H jet needle CW until the engine starts to speed up, but still 4-stroking. Proper adjustment is reached when the engine 4-strokes at speed, but immediately 2-strokes when cutting. Release the throttle and adjust L jet needle CW until the engine idles fairly well, but will allow the engine to 'follow the throttle'. Set the idle speed screw so that the chain stops turning, but the engine will continue to run. Hope this helps!
SOURCE: can not adjust carburetor
Yes...they have them on Ebay. Normally you won't be able to get one from a small engine repair place or dealer unless you're "in" with them. You can make using a 22 gauge-18 calibre electrical connector. (Quick disconnects-female) They need to be female spade terminals and you can stick um on the end of a screw driver and then push them down over the round-splined heads of the L and H adjusting needles on the carb. Probably have them at auto parts store....if not Radio Shack.

The L and H mixture screws have unorthodox heads on them, but they can be turned. You can buy a tool for the type of head they have on Ebay. I use a plastic automotive type wire terminal connector and tap it over the head of the mixture screw. The 22 gauge ring-eye type works well because it gives you something to grasp and turn the screw with. Here is the manufacturer's tutorial on adjusting your carburetor.
