To view the wireless network connection dialog box, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, Run, and type ncpa.cpl, and then click Ok.
  2. Right-click the Wireless Network Connection icon, and then choose Properties. (Or you can right click the Wireless Network Connection icon and choose View Available Wireless Networks from the shortcut menu.)
  3. Click the Wireless Networks tab.
  4. Under Available networks, click the View Wireless Networks button.
From the wireless network dialog box, you can refresh the network list. This performs another scan of wireless networks within range. The wireless network connection dialog displays the following for each detected network. The following shows the new connection box.

When the wireless network adapter displays the detected networks, you'll able to select a wireless network name and attempt to connect to it. The antenna icon indicates an infrastructure mode wireless network. The icon that shows two wireless client computers indicates an ad hoc wireless connection.

The lock icon and the "Security-enabled wireless network" label indicate that the wireless network has security enabled. The gold lock means you need a network key in order for you to connect to a wireless network. If it's not security enabled, you'll be able to connect to the network without a network key.

try running the fault codes first to get an idea of the list of problems you were not told about

Is it possible to get pictures off crashed hard drive.

Dear

You can still recover your data. Just follow these instructions:

Connect that harddisk to another computer with Windows XP. Check if harddisk is detected on that computer. If yes then check that partitions are showing if yes then simply copy your data.
If partitions are not shown that you have to download software named Get Data Back / RxStudio

And run either of these software to recover your data.

Hope this will help you. May God help you.

Archos 704 stopped working

Hi,

A couple of things you can try:
  1. hard reset the 704 using the button under the battery right hand side;
  2. reformat the unit (but that would of course delete contents).
Just curious, did you try/did a firmware update recently? Additionally, the manual has some details on troubleshooting as well as Archos online support.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
