MY SANDER HAS STARTED TO LOOSE POWER WHILE IN USE.

Get immediatly garantee where you bought it from , but only IF you have tried it on a other powerconnector if you are shure you have no problem for example by power from a cable real with an build in protection circuit breaker button between the connectors , it could be that a contact on the stator electric field is loose or powercable too the switch but garantee is the right place before opening it in any case but you have not connect it to a power generator by somebody that you cannot trust that its after use sometimes was adjusted for the right power because its oft the problem by wrong adjustments by using a generator for power else then your armature can be damaged without a burned colour if there was a power failure too high a voltage that you will see absolutely nothing wrong on your armature but its intermittent on some of the collectors measure between the 2 brushes on ohm with sound by measuring with multimeter ? this is a small suggestion of what can happens with powertools on dubious places .

If it is not the plug in the wall socket being loose, then the most common is the motor contact brushes.

you need new brushes or clean out the holes they go in so they move freely

Try to plug something else into the outlet, just to make sure that the breaker didn't trip.
Try to run the sander without a belt. It may be in a bind.
With the sander unplugged, check the motor brushes. Replace if necessary.
If everything above checks out OK, you may have a loose wire.

There can be a few problems. First is your air supply the right pressure and volume for the sander. Check that at the quick connector to the sander itself. Second, if it is cold and moisture is high, ice can get into the sander which will slow it way down. Third, and probably most likely cause, is the sander well oiled and the parts inside clean. Fourth, mechanical issues: the drive motor may be well worn out inside, the bearing that the main shaft for the sander may be worn out & so forth. Hope this helps you, Rick

It sounds like you need to replace the backing pad on the sander. Over time the velcro (hook & Loop) on the backing pad will loose its stick. A Bosch service cneter can supply you with a new one, just let them know which model you have. If its an adhesive back sanding pad the same thing applys just get a new one. Hope this helps
