MY Mouse has stopped working. There must be batteries, but I can't locate any place to access them. As to the Model number, it is not there, or it is printed so small that I am unable to read it. I purchased it in 2004. It is 2.4GHz - approved in Canada. Hope you can help.

Hello,
I had a similar problem with my battery going dead in my Logitech mouse. There was a "aa" battery located under the rear top cover. it's the part that has the Logitech logo on it. You simply press the button underneath the mouse @ the back that has a LOCK symbol on it & lift off the cover. Put in a new battery & you should be good to go.

On some models you simply push down and back on the top rear cover where the Logitech logo is and it will slide off to reveal the AA batteries

The only clue on my mouse was three fine lines slightly prominent on the mouse moulding directly above the Logitech logo - this proved to be an arcane instruction to press the logo and slide the entire upper rear part of the mouse off the base - revealing a apir of standard AA batteries - job done

My mouse has a little button on the bottom with a "lock" symbol on it. Press this and the battery chamber opens. My mouse takes a AA battery. Don't know the model.

As of 9-20-09 Depending on the model of your mouse, on the bottom there is a button next to the battery symbol all you need to do is press this button and the top bottom portion the with the logitech name on it should lift off to revile battery department.

I tried to follow sandkeyfred's advice, but maybe mine is a different model. The most prominent number on the bottom is CE0560, so maybe that's the model number on my Logitech wireless mouse. It may be that I just didn't follow fred's instructions, but I found two AA batteries in the compartment. To find batteries - press down on the Logitech logo that looks like a crescent moon on left and the sun on the right. At same time, slide the larger COVER (don't try anything on the underside - the batteries are accessed from the top of the mouse) backward and voila!

Hi AN other solution could be that your receptacle that you place your mouse into to recharge our mouse could be faulty and not sending enough charge to your mouse try a new set of batteries in the receptacle and if this fails i would sagest that you buy a new mouse one that has it`s batteries stored in the base of the mouse Hope this Helps Paddy

What is the model # of the mouse. It should be on the bottom of the mouse. Also most of the time entry, for batteries are on the bottom of the mouse.

  • Anonymous Oct 03, 2007

after doing a bit more research on your question, I saw that your mouse has a lithium battery. You shouldn't HAVE to change that. Thats why you can't find a door latch. My guess is the mouse won't charge well enough for you to use it for any reasonable amount of time. Have you tried cleaning the contacts on the mouse and the base? you will need a rubber pencil eraser to do that. Just "erase" all four of the contacts. hard but not too hard...that is a pretty expensive mouse.

Solution #8 - Stu_Wade! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have the Logitech Optical Mouse C-UM34 and the when I plugged it into my new computer the computer indicated that it detected the device and that it was 'ready for use' but it wouldn't work. Then I noticed the red light on the mouse was on. I ended up using an old corded mouse, then got the optical mouse out again a few mos later and the red light wasn't on anymore (it was just dead!). After much googling, I realized that the batteries were dead. (I didn't even realize the thing had batteries!) I bought the mouse used, with no packaging or manual, so I couldn't figure out where the batteries are! After much more googling, I came across this site and your post. You mentioned the 3 tiny lines just above the Logitech logo, and how to slide that cover off, and lo and behold, I did it, and it came off very easily and the batteries were right there! So thank you! I know this is an old thread, but hopefully someone else will see it and not rush out to buy a new mouse because they think there's is toast. I replaced the batteries and it works great now. Thanks again!

How do I open my Logitech mouse to replace the batteries?

A

Anonymous

I recently changed the batteries in the Logitech mouse MX700 because I could not charge the battery, but the red light won't go away.

I have pressed the buttons on both the charger and mouse to possibly charge a low battery. Initially the light turns to green, then red then goes off. When I try to use the mouse, the red light again starts flashing.

What is the problem?

Although it will void the manufacturer's waranty; if you need to change the li-ion battery generally you will have to unscrew the mouse piece by piece to get to the batter housing. Just make sure you match the replacement batter correctly. However try everything else first as it can be easy to ruin a potentially good mouse by deconstructing it. Also be sure to follow state, local and federal guidlines when disposing of the old LI batt. This is not a deffinate, but it worked for me.

On my mouse an mx laser bluetooth thingie, I had to uncover screw ports and then actually had to drill (with a small dremel) to get the last screw underneath some translucent plastic.

Good Luck

I threw away the instructions on how to download songs onto a Riptunes MP3 player, and now I need instructions on how to download my songs from my laptop. I have everything I need like all of the necessary...

All I did with mine was created a playlist on Windows Media Player and then plugged in my Riptunes (same model) using the cable that came with the MP3. After the Icon comes up that says your MP3 is on your drive (just the box that shows that you can play from your Media player)- go back into Media Player and press sync. It'll show it moving your music in the right hand corner. When it's done, it'll tell you that you can remove your MP3. You should be good to listen to your music at that point :)
