Cannot find a filter

In July I started looking for a replacement filter for my ShopVac portable Wet/Dry 15 litre vacuum cleaner, which I bought at Sears in Canada. Three months later, I am still looking. Sears has not been any help at all. The Model no. shown on my manual is 113.296010C and the part number is 9-97210 (Purple Stripe) paper filter. The numbers may be different for you, but the pictures of model no. 9-17776 very closely resemble my shopvac.

U can try Sears Canada part nr 090 397 311 10, but I coulkd not obtain it in the store in Kelowna.

But, found that the RIDGID VF3500 filter fits and works great!! Much more freely available as well at Home Depot etc.

I use knee high panty hose! I buy them by the cheap box and then just peel them off and throw them away when they get too nasty! I have found filters at Sears previous to my cheap trick though! :)

I just seen where you can order filters from shopvac Canada http://www.shopvac.ca/ If you still can't find it then contact them; I'm sure they will be able to help.

In a pinch a discarded flannel pajama sleeve can be employed as a filter on your shop-vac. grab up an end and twist it together and fasten with a piece of wire. the open part slips over the cage of the vacuum and fastens with a large flat rubber band. I'll try to find a source for a filter for you and will get back to you.

Need to know what bag to order for the shopvac 6060.... part number, where to order? is this a 20 gallon canister?

The Shop-Vac 6060 is a 20 gallon wet/dry vacuum. However, most shop vacuums don't use a bag. They do have a paper filter when you are using them for dry clean up. This site, https://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/vacuumcleaners/shop-vac/6060.html , has the manual and replacement parts. The filter is listed first in the parts section.

I hope this helps.

How do I remove the filter from a Rigid 4 gal portable wet/dry vac

James the attached link/video shows filter just pulls off. I also put a link to the manual and it show the filter held on with large plastic nut, which would have to be removed first.

We inherited the shopvac 16 gallon. I bought the required filter (foam) but the dust blows back from the blow hole. Am I missing a part?

The foam filter is for use when using the vac. to pick up water. Now you should have a paper filter for picking up dry material. If possible you may want to look inside of one at the store. Hope this helps.

Do you need a special filter for wet application

Yes. The following site shows the filters and which is used for what. Due to potential motor damage, I wouldn't use it without the proper filter.

I was using the shopvac and it just quit. (changed filter, still

The brushes that make contact with the motor's armature need to be cleaned. If you get into the motor and find that the armature is scored or burnt then you'll have to replace the motor.

Using shop vac 52722-90 for wet applications

yes, the foam filter is what you should use, also make sure you remove any bag, or paper filter, the water would make it fall apart.

Shopvac 2010

Just be sure to remove the paper filter bag that fits over the foam filter before vacuuming liquids. It's easy to get it wet and they don't work very well when that happens.
