Door locked no light to say locked no washing action on hotpoint wf430

Brusheson motor will be worn. The door lock is in series with the motor so if brushes worn it interrupts the signal telling the board the door is locked. New brushes will likely be all it needs.

SOURCE: Hotpoint WF430 lights flashing will not start

Hi, the problem is the pump is blocked. What you have to do if your a bit handy is to turn off the power from the plug socket, pull out the machine and take off the back panel, then when you look iside you will see a big black rubber fitting at the base of the mashine attached to a white plastic pump and inturn to your outlet pipe. you have to disconnect the big black one from the top, there is a metal clip which you have to unscrew and it will fall down. inside this is a plastic ball and something which looks like a shuttle ****, take this out and clean everything, you will be suprised what is in there (especially if you have kids) lastly put everything back together and put on a quick rinse cycle. all is fixed! OR Call an repair man, who may try to con you into new parts when they are not neccesary.

SOURCE: door will not open on hotpoint wd420 washing

Turn off the power and isolate the water supply, Move the machine in to the middle of a room - you need some space. If you then rock the washing machine backwards, there is a door release. It's extremely hard to reach, about level with the lock, so make sure the machine is both stable and that someone is with you to ensure the machine doesn't fall and crush you to death!

It basically looks like an little electronic panel, in the middle of which you can see a steel knoble. Press with some force, and the catch will release.

This just happened to ours, and the actual lock is broken, so that was why we couldn't open the door. Yours might have a similar fault. The mechanism is partially plastic and it looks like the plastic sheared off and then the electric release no longer pulls the catch in to the position where it will release.

SOURCE: washing machine door wont open on hotpoint

remove the front kick strip, on the LHS you will notice a yellow tag. with the power on on the machine pull down twice gently on this tab. this should unlock the door.

if you now notice the drum is full of water its more than likely your filter is blocked and this is what caused the door not to open.

Lights come on to operate except door light, the door is locked but no a action on hotpoint wf430

Worn motor brushes can cause this. The door lock is on the same circuit as the motor so if brushes are worn it doesnt know door is locked and therefore wont start. likely just needs new brushes.

Hotpoint wf430

The tick is probably the door lock engaging the machine should start filling with water after this, try putting it on a spin cycle if this works ok then it is more than likely to be a faulty inlet valve as a spin cycle only operates the drain pump and motor

The door is locked on my hotpoint wf430 and it just wont open. my wife informs me that before we went on holiday she switched the boiler off whilst the machine was in mid wash (if this is relevent). please...

the best thing you can do is remove the power lead the take the top panel off and push the drum to the rear and using a small screwdriver remove the lock and replace it from the manufactures website (you can switch off the machine at anytime and restart it by turning it back on and pressing start again depending on the type of machine of course) eric

Cn I recieve an instruction manual for my washing mashine?

Hi,

You will need to go on-line. Type into your search engine 'hotpoint washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay.
You will obviously be asked for the particular model- WF430- at some point!

Good luck,

Leak from lower door section and from powder door thing.

This could be a partially or completely seized/failed pump.
Before a machine goes in to a spin cycle, it runs the pump to empty all the water out. It used to be quite common that the machine does not check all the water has gone before spinning, it just runs the pump for a set time which if the pump is okay, is long enough to empty it.
If a spin is then started with quite a lot of water left in the drum, it gets thrown everywhere including back out of the powder/conditioner draw. Also the sheer strain of spinning a large amount of water can force water through an otherwise okay door seal.
Unless you are comfortable working on the machine yourself, call an engineer.
