What model? Connector on the outside or on the mainboard? If on the mainboard, replace it. If on the front, you should be able to just replace the connector cable and/or mounting.

Samsung CLP-300 printer is not recognized on any computer. Turns on fine, green light, prints test page offline, but when plugged in USB to either a mac or PC, never recognized. Reinstalled software,...

If you have the green light and test prints OK, check the condition of the USB connector in the back of the printer. The pins inside get damaged by being too close to the wall or something like that, broken connections to the logic pcb, You can solder a new connector on if that's the problem, otherwise you may need a new circuit board.

USB recepticle broken

has it complete broken from the printer or is it partially attached? I would imagine that a new connector could be resoldered onto the board, but it might be a bit difficult. You could try contacting HP about this issue. They might be able to repair it or sell you a refurb unit for cheap.

HP Laser Jet 1320n series

The HP LaserJet 1320 has a USB port and a Parallel port.

The HP LaserJet 1320n has a USB port and an Ethernet port.

USB-to-Parallel converter cables, like this one, are designed to attach a parallel device to a computer's USB port.

But you need to do the opposite (attach a USB device to a computer's parallel port). A USB-to-Parallel converter cable will not do this.
