Yes the inner door glass is a replaceable part and the door will have to be disasembled but not replaced. I can help with sourcing any parts for you since you used a premium post.

not a problem, first you can refer to your user manual as to how to remove door, (pg 21) heres a link if you misplaced it.

then Ill include this link as well, which is apart breakdown for your GENERAL oven, and i do this so you can see the different panes of glass( ther are 4 of them inthe oven door, each one different so ordering hte right one will be half the battle. http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/assets/pdfs/literature/Repair%20Part%20List%20-%208186032.pdf
the numbers after you model example, kemc308kss** (01,02,03,04) these last 2 digits will also determine which glass you actually have

Once the door is off and you have the correct glass, changing the glass is nothing more then reomving screws from the door frame, layer by layer until you get to the broken pane, not real difficult at all

At higher temperatures, glass expands differently to metal. if glass was installed tightly by what ever means (some use silicon sealer or metal clips etc.) the different expansion rate could have been the problem. Not to mention a possible weakness in that piece of glass.

I see this as being a common problem with the inner glass shattering. Can we just do without it and keep using the oven?
