Question about Gateway Computers & Internet

1 Answer

My problem is with Adobe Flash Player,or Directv Everywhere Player.I have a year old Gateway NE56R10u laptop. At first,Directv Everywhere worked pretty dam good, but now, when I attempt to go fullscreen with the player,I receive a pop up that says 'fullscreen cannot be used at this time due to technical difficulties'. Naturally, trying to get DTV to act upon anything is practically nile. My futile attempts at self troubleshooting include uninstall/reinstall all players, and erasing cookies, caches, etc. And trying to obtain help from Adobe also resulted in chasing my tail. All in all,I have spent nearly 40 hrs.of troubleshooting.BTW,I am running Windows 7,64 bit.The only error that I might have made is trying to enlarge picture from my keyboard. My wife and I are sick and tired of watching a little picture.BTW,full screen on any other site is OK.Could this be something as simple as keyboard adjustment? I have used FIXYA several times, and always get professional attitude and help.Keep up the good work.We need you out here !

Probably won't help but it's all I can come up with.

Default zoom is Ctrl + 0 (zero), though I think that would apply to everything not just one program.

What browser are you using? Firefox? Internet Explorer? I have had this same problem. Try to uninstall the flash player and reinstall it. If that doesn't work and you are using Firefox, try to
uninstall and reinstall Firefox, just remember to save (export) your bookmarks first. Good Luck.

Hi.I need assistance on my Gateway ne56r10u.I have major typing problems.Often it is to troublesome for me to type. Also,as I am typing,my screen will roll up in jerking motions.I then have to scroll the...

Many touchpads will do that; typing causes the membrane to bounce and it's seen as touches by you. That causes the cursor/pointer to move to the new position. The best solution is to turn off the touchpad and get a mouse, though I guess you could buy a new touchpad, if you prefer that type of control.

I know this is probably a late answer but try pressing (F6) on the keyboard and then try using the touch pad again.

I go to alot of websites for their information and they say I need adobe flash player to view the info. I have downloaded it but it never works.

You probably need the newest version of Adobe Flash Player for those websites.

Yes, I read where you downloaded it, but there is a flaw.

Adobe Flash Player will NOT uninstall the old version. Therefore it won't use the new version until the old version is removed. Adobe Flash Player does Not remove the old version automatically. (As many other programs do)

YOU have to manually remove the old version, before you can install the new version.

Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller.

Yep. Same place as the Adobe Flash Player new version.
Adobe Flash Player Support Center.

Go to the bottom of the page.
Under the heading Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller, you will see Tech Note in blue.
Click on it.

Or this is the page it takes you to. (I just wanted you to see how to find it)

To the right of number 1, click on the blue - uninstall_flash_player.exe
I would set it so that it goes to your desktop screen. Much easier to find.

After the file has downloaded, go to your desktop screen.
Double-click right on the file name.
Install it.

Now run the file.
Restart your computer.
Go back to the Adobe Flash Player Support Center, and download the latest version.
Install it.
Restart your computer.

Let me know how that works in a Comment.
