The Samsung M5650 Lindy is GPRS, EDGE, AND 3G enabled. It should connect automatically to GPRS when it's available. (Unless you are trying to tether a PC to the internet with the phone then, it may be locked out by default.)
In the United States, Cingular Wireless is one of our cellular service providers. In order to access Cingular's 3G network, MediaNet must be used for data packet service.
On 3G phones like the new Samsung Jack the MediaNet network is not an available option when tethering a PC to the internet.
In order for Cingular's 3G phone owners to tether on the 3G network, the phone must have it's 'Internet Sharing' program unlocked. Only then can the option to use MediaNet in the Network Connections box be shown on the screen.
