The popular Kwikset keyway is used by many companies, and will fit into one of Lockwood's keyways. The spacing is a little different, so if you are trying to make locks of both brands work with the same key, double check the width of the cuts while you have the locks apart to make sure the pins you are using will sit on the bottoms of the cuts and not on the slopes of the sides of the cuts.

If you just want to copy a key, then there won't be a problem. Lockwood does have 6 and even 7 pin locks, so make sure your key is the right length.

How do I change the code on a lockwood digital door lock 530

First determine the code you want to use; find the tweezers and spare red and blue tumblers if you are going to change the length of your code. The factory-set code is 5 digits. You can only use each key once and the C key cannot be included in your 4-6 digit long code. Next you need to disassemble the lock with the lock kept horizontal during the recoding process. If the lock has been installed, you need to uninstall it from the door. Remove the two mounting screws from the interior face plate. Then separate the exterior section from the spindle connecting it to the interior face plate. If the lock has not been installed or the previous step is done, remove the adapter plate from the back of the digital lock (exterior plate) if it is fitted on the unit. Next remove the four red screws that hold the back plate onto the lock and remove the backplate. Press and hold the C button at the lower left (as viewed from the back where the tumblers are) below the most of the other keys on the faceplate. With the tweezers, remove tumblers and put a red tumbler in the spots corresponding to your new code. Put a blue tumbler in the all of the other spots. Make sure that the color side is up and that the square cutout is facing the side of the lock. (Thus on the right side keys, the square cut faces right and on the left keys, it faces to the left.) When all of the tumblers are in place, release the C button. Test your code and check that it works after replacing the backplate and adapter plate but before putting the lock on the door. Save the tweezers and additional tumblers for future code changes.

The directions for resetting the code on any Lockwood Digital Lock are provided in the service manual here: http://www.lockweb.com.au/Local/AU/Technical%20Downloads/Lockwood/Mechanical%20Digital%20Locks/530%20Digital%20DX/Lockwood%20DX%20Digital%20Service%20Manual.pdf . Other details for the lock installation are available here: http://www.lockweb.com.au/en/site/lockweb/Lockwood-Products/?productId=948353 .

I hope this helps.

Will all kwikset keys unlock all kwikset locks?

I've heard of this problem happening. Whenever the key is changed, check it several times before locking the door. If you have keys duplicated, the duplicates must be very accurate or they might not work reliably. Difficult to know what causes this, unless someone is tampering with the lock, or resetting it improperly. Or could be defective cylinders - which would be disappointing. Pin-tumbler cylinders do not have this problem, it's something unique to Kwikset
Smartkey.

Kwickset door handle fell apart on my front door help

Kwikset locks are inexpensive because they do not have replaceable parts. Buy a new one.

By the time the lock breaks, it's probably time to get different keys, but if you have so many keys in the hands of people you cannot contact, or you have more than three other locks keyed alike, and you must have the new lock work with the same keys as before, the place where you buy new locks probably has someone who can rekey the new lock to your old keys. Kwikset also sells locks that you can rekey to other Kwikset keys yourself. They are more expensive than other locks of the same type, but could save money long term, especially if you find a need to rekey your locks a lot (lots of visitors, part-time tenants or roommates, your kids lose their keys a lot, etc.)

I have a kwikset lever door lock, is there a diagram or manual available for it which shows the inner mechanisim parts?

No. Throw it out and buy something else. Carbine, Lockwood, Brava, even Gainsborough is better than kwikset.

Lost keys to my Entry door lock

Visit your local Home Depot and purchase a Kwikset re-keying kit. They're inexpensive and work fine but stay alert and follow the instructions properly. This kit comes complete with proper pins as well as new keys. Good Luck!
