If you have a frost build up on the interior back wall of the freezer, you have a defrost issue. This would include a bad defrost control, bad heater or terminator.
If there is not a frost build up then you may have a bad evaporator fan motor.

How to bypass defy f640 thermostat and how to bypass the evaporative fan motor

The thermostat is your cutout when the refrigerator reaches the correct temperature. If you bypass it, your fridge will become a freezer, but it will also overheat and set your house on fire because it will never be idle.

The evaporator fan cycles the air and makes the cold air reach all area of the fridge. Cold air sinks to the bottom so the food at the top will spoil. Also the evaporator will freeze up much faster and the fridge will be more inefficient.

I don't think you have thought this through my friend. Just replace the parts!

Loosing cold just five yrss.old

unplug and defrost fridge/freezer.

you most likely have ice build up in your evaporator or collection tray. a full defrost should fix this. just unplug the fridge until it is fully defrosted.

Wiki has good instruction on how to defrost a freezer;
http://www.wikihow.com/Defrost-a-Freezer

once you have it defrosted, adjust the temperature to a mid low level for 24 hours then adjust to needed freezer fridge temperature (advise to get a thermomitor to monitor your fridge and freezer is not to high as this could freeze the lines again and your back to square one.

good luck. (remember to eat or store your perishables properly so you dont loss money on your food etc spoiling.

Frost is building up in bottom freezer. Amana ABB2224DEW

I have this problem as well, only nobody is leaving anything open. The defroster is defective of these things and the duct between the fridge and freezer gets frozen over and the cold air can't get in the fridge, so the freezer keeps working until it's blue in the face.

Fridge too cold.Freezer OK.

You probably have an issue with one of the following:

* temperature control assembly (controls freezer and/or fresh food temperatures)
* damper assembly (allows air from freezer to fresh food compartment)

Contact an appliance service company.

Hi, We have a whirlpool eb22dkxfw01 bottom-freezer refrigerator. The freezer part is working OK, compressor is running, but the refrigerator part is getting rather close to room temperature, and...

need to check for ice build up in air vent. if not make sure you hear your evap fan blowing in the freezer section. this blows your cold air into the fresh food side. do you have ice build up on rear wall of freezer section?
