I have an old but very faithful Toshiba TV, CX2779K, that has a picture that recently shifted upward and now cuts off about 1 inch of the top of the picture. Otherwise it functions properly. I tried to do a reset to original factory settings which helped a little. I also adjusted the set's controls with no benefit. Can this be corrected easily or do I need to start looking for a new TV? I love this one and would like to keep it a while longer. Dean
If it cannot be adjusted then there is a problem in tv. your problem is in vertical output circuit Can this be corrected easily ? yes or do I need to start looking for a new TV? I love this one and would like to keep it a while longer. not to look for new tv.you will keep it for longer that has a picture that recently shifted upward and now cuts off about 1 inch of the top of the picture. Otherwise it functions properly. your problem is in vertical output circuit please check 1loose contact in vertical output section 2 capacitor defective in v/output. it is a common problem. it is a not a major problem. if you are not tech person get it done by skilled tech. hope this will help.
