Plug the modem filter in the wall, plug the modem into the filter, then plug the router into the modem. From there you should be able to set up your network or personal internet.
check the connectivity again by assigning static IP Address to your DELL.. if problem occurs, clean install the drivers and dell Wifi software to your laptop.. Virus problem also results in this type of problem..
turn of NAT in router. My router is a dlink dir825. its under Advanced -- Advanced Network. There is a checkbox under Enable UPnP, take it out. save reboot should work. I had the same issues.
