Pellet stove brand new stove,it ran properly for an hour then shut down.I reset it several of times I checked all fuses and switches and all have power. the stove will do its ignition cycle only The auger will not continue to feed and the convection blower will not turn on. The blower comes on when I have tried several ignition cycles and the high temp switch overheats. I have noticed by simultaneously pressing the auger button and low speed fan button that the system on the control board does somekind of diagnosis cycle, can I press something to reboot this system (drolet pellet stove ECO45)

I have the same stove. 7 weeks old. Had heat setting at 6 . 15 minutes later stove gave me an H code. Tried to reset 3 times while hot. Now stove has lock up. Tried unplugging to no avail. Check L260 high temp reset switch. No luck. What else can I do?

What are the pros and cons of operating the Quadrafire Mt Vernon AE pellet stove in manual mode?

They probably cannot suggest running it on 'manual' due to liability reasons....leaving home for an extended time and forgetting its on manual...comes to mind.

What may be suggested is to make sure ANY and ALL safety controls still function to shut off fuel (pellet) flow in the manual mode as an extended overtemp condition is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of damage to a heating system or to the structure within which it is installed.

I think its a judgement call on your part once you determine you pretty well KNOW the full and complete operation of the device. The key to that statement is KNOWING WITHOUT A DOUBT the FULL operation of the system.

I also would NEVER recommend to a customer to operate it in the manual position.

Why is my reset switch popping after 10 minutes when I try to to start the pellets.

I would suggest contacting Napoleon directly at 1(800) 461-5581 and ask for a registered Napoleon service dealer in your area. You can also go to this website http://www.napoleonfireplaces.com/find-a-store/ and ask them if they have a service technician if you are in the United States. Pellet stoves are extremely temperamental and can be a real bear to try and diagnose. Honestly, leave the diagnosing and troubleshooting to guys that have meters and gauges to properly diagnose the issue. I hope this helps.

Have a pellet stove that has been working perfect for years, then last night it shut itself off and when I opened door there was this black tar on everything inside and the windows were also black. I had...

Several of things come to mind: Have you changed the type (Brand) of pellets, recently?
Have you had your chimney (stack) cleaned in the past year? Is the fresh air intake functioning properly? Is the auger feeding to much or to little pellets?

Changing brand of pellets - Not all wood pellets are made the same. If you recently changed brands, you will need to tweak your stove to handle this new brand. This will affect how the auger feeds.

If you chimney (stack) hasn't been cleaned in the past 12 months, it may be partially clogged with creosote and not drawing properly and it is liquefying and running back down the chimney and not allowing for a clean burn. And could cause a chimney fire.

Fresh air intake: If that's not functioning properly, you're getting incomplete combustion. Which will cause the black tar looking substance you described. Couple that with changing brands of pellets and you have a problem.

The above are the first things that came to mind. I hope it steers you in the right direction to troubleshoot the problem. Please let me know.

Pellet stove makes a popping, clicking sound

First, have you recently changed the brand of pellets from what you have normally used in the past?
Not all pellet manufacturers make their pellets the same way and you may have to re-tweak your stove to match the current brand you're using.

Are there clinkers in floor of the stove's firebox? If so, they will need to be removed.

Does the popping and clicking sound like metal stress when the stove heats up? This could cause a crack in the firebox.

Also, check your vent piping to make sure there are no obstructions in it. This could cause incomplete combustion of the pellets (clinkers) and over heating.

And finally, check the door gasket material. If its worn, it won't seal properly, it will allow air in and Carbon Monoxide out. Replace the door gasket

Hope this helps you solve the problem.

Cheap charlie pellet stove/pel-pro runs for 10min then shuts down

The auger is controlled by a T-stat on the side of the combustion chamber. Open the side of the stove and you can see the auger motor and the thermostat that feeds it. It has a manual reset button on the back of the thermostat, press it.
