Check your setting. If you are taking real high resolution photos you won't be able to store as much on you memory card. Reducing photo resolution will help.

SOURCE: memory card error - E50

Error Code "E50" (CF card formatting error) When a camera error occurs, an error code like "Exx" will be displayed, where the x's represent numbers. The "E50" error code indicates formatting a CF card has failed. Solution To clear the "E50" error, try performing the following procedure. 1. Try using another CF card. If you have another CF card, try loading it in the camera. If the error code is not displayed when the other CF card is loaded, there may be something wrong with the first one rather than with the camera. 2. Use your computer's ScanDisk utility to check the CF card for errors. Use ScanDisk to check the CF card for card error or card failure. Refer to the instruction manual for your operating system or Windows Help for further instructions. (If you are using a Macintosh, use the "Disk First Aid" program to check for card error or card failure. Refer to the instruction manual for your Macintosh OS for further information.) Be sure to back up the data on the CF card on the computer before you check the CF card. If a card error or card failure occurs when you use your computer's ScanDisk, there is something wrong with the CF card. Follow ScanDisk's on-screen instructions to solve the problem. If the same error occurs when you are using the CF card supplied with the camera, please contact the retailer where you purchased the camera or the nearest Canon service center. If the error code is displayed right after you took a picture, the image may not have been recorded. Switch the camera to playback mode to check if it was recorded. Precautions for handling a CF card: - Do not remove a CF card or disconnect the camera's power source while the camera is recording, loading, or erasing data on a CF card. - CF cards are high-precision electronic devices. Do not bend, force, or subject them to shocks or vibration. - Do not attempt to disassemble or alter a CF card. - Place the CF card in the supplied case for storage. - Moving a CF card rapidly between temperature extremes may cause condensation in the card, leading to potential malfunctions. To avoid condensation, place the CF card in a sealed plastic bag before moving it into a different temperature area and allow it to adjust slowly to the new temperature. If condensation forms on the CF card, put it aside until the water droplets have evaporated completely. - Do not use or store CF cards in the locations subject to dust or sand, high humidity, or high temperatures.

SOURCE: memory card error

Connect your memory card to a computer by using a card reader. Format the memory card in your computer treating it as a hard drive. Good luck!

SOURCE: Memory card problem - video

I'm not sure how to fix the memory card, perhaps you can purchase a memory card reader (usually USB, runs about 10-20 dollars) that you can transfer your photos and/or video to your computer with.
As for the memory card itself, many older cameras do not have the capability to recognize and save properly to large capacity memory cards.

There are things called firmware updates, which can help the problems in some cases, you would have to go to Canon's website and find out if you have a firmware update for your camera (I didn't see what kind of camera you have, so if you can reply with that I can do some digging).

Let me know if this helps or if you need more information!

SOURCE: reformatting sd memory card for canon camera

If your camera is indeed an SD200, am sorry to say an 8GB SDHC will not work in this camera. The camera will fail to recognize it, and will do this by giving various problems as you've run into. The overall problem is that the camera was designed before the SDHC format came out (SDHC cards although the exact same in appearance are different in format than standard SD cards). The largest size card that the SD200 will recognize is a 2GB standard SD card.

SOURCE: Communication Error

try either a card reader (rather than connecting your camera to the computer) or try erasing photos. it seems that it happend when the card is too full. i had the problem and had to go under 3000 photos and then it worked.

hope this helps.

Most likely you are experiencing an issue with your memory card. Remove this first then try shooting pictures to the internal memory of the camera. If all is well then reformat the memory card either with your PC or replace it into your camera. If this is still a problem check your card with fuji's list of approved memory cards http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/compatibility/

My new camera does not work. i have taken approx 4 or 5 pictures on it and then i put a 4mg card in the camera and now it at top of screen internal memory is full. i took the card out and it still says...

Hello Donna

Thank you for using FIXYA!!

OK, the problem is most likely that the internal storage(NOT the memory card) is full, hence only 4-5 photos. What you need to do is to remove the memory card from the camera, then connect the camera to the computer via the USB cable.

Once you have connected the camera, copy the photos from the camera to your computer, once you have done the copy process, you need to delete the photos off the camera.

If you have competed the above instructions, you can insert the memory card into the camera and the problem should be resolved.

Please do no hesitate to let me know if you do not understand, or have any questions, i will gladly help.

Kind regards

Yes, try formatting the card within the camera and then check.

My memory card is full but my camera reads "no images."

Don't fret, your images are probably still there. But take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for:

http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/recovering-those-accidentally-lost.html

You will need to use a flash card reader with this software. If you don't have one, get one, they're cheap:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_st?keywords=card+reader&rs=172282&page=1&rh=n%3A172282%2Ck%3Acard+reader&sort=price

And finally, after (and only after) you recover your images, format your card. This should refreshen your card to be usable again. Format it in the camera, using a "Full" or "Low Level" format, and NOT a "Quick" format. Keep in mind that the photos will no longer be recoverable after doing the Full or Low Level format.
