If its the disc driven snapper I believe it to be, then you need to replace the rubber fly disc. Or- check the linkage where the tran bar slides.

Grease plug locatiom snapper rider

if it's a rear engine rider with a 28 or 30 inch deck the grease fitting is underneath the deck... If it is a rear engine rider, close the fuel off and stand the mower on end but for a short period of time only. This applies to ALL rear engine riders from Snapper up until about 2 years ago when they made a SERIOUS mistake and redesigned them

Why will my Snapper riding mower not go into gear?

If it is a hydro-stat transmission, the bypass lever will have to be re-engaged for it to work.

Weedeater lawn mower won't go forward or reverse

Try the friction wheel, you guys over think things. Use a snapper wheel, then use your original friction band, you'll have to modify the snapper wheel a bit but it will fix your problem

Will not go into gear

a hydro uses a foot pedal on the right side , you push forward to go forward or rock the pedal rearward to go in reverse - a regular transmission has a shifter usually between your legs for reverse 1st 2nd or 3rd gear - you also said the blades wont engage . are they electric ( with a switch ) or do you manually move a lever .
