I am looking for an instruction manual for a PhoneMate pmg-55 telephone I purchased in 2002. Model number: PMG-55 HAV VC. I need to know (I've had this packed away for while) if my memory is correct and there is a voice mail available on the phone to leave messages. My e-mail is: [email protected] Thanks.

ACCORDING TO THE MODEL NUMBER THIS PHONE DOES NOT HAVE AN ANSWERING DEVICE. IF YOU HAVE VOICEMAIL - YOU MUST HAVE THE PHONE COMPANY'S SERVICE FOR VOICE MAIL. IF YOU HAVE A STUTTERED DIALTONE WHEN YOU HAVE MESSAGES THEN IT PROBABLY COMES FROM YOUR TELEPHONE COMPANY. CALL THE PHONE COMPANY AND ASK FOR INSTRUCTIONS TO CHANGE THE GREETING ON VOICEMAIL.

I don't think this can be done. I read through the entire manual and there is no mention. I can email you a copy of the manual if you want.

I wish I had a solution for you.  My Uncle has the same problem and the manual instructs to unplug/replug the machine and then reset the date and time.  He has done that for a while and now even that isn't fixing the problem.  I find this to be highly unacceptable.  I'm planning to get him another phone that WON'T be GE.

This site (www.sewusa.com) sells manuals for many types of sewing machines. It also has a section (on left side of home page) that provides basic information about treading (bobbins too) and repair.

I also own a 525 FA and just read that someone considers it is a piece of junk. I'm having problems with the tread breaking constantly (with many hours spent on this problem) and I even have a manual! Perhaps it is a piece of junk?
