Hello we have the same vulcan stove. The pilot light when out last week. I tried to light it. Would not stay lit. So I held the red buttom for more than a minute. It light but then made a click and the pilot light went out. Tried it three times. What was the click sound I heard do you think. And should I try again but for maybe three mins. Thank you. Also is there a way to regulate the size of flames on top burners. I just cleaned out the air space with pipe cleaners and the orange seemed to dissipate. Now we would light a lower more intense flame.

Usually if a gas appliance (stove, water heater, etc) has a pilot light that either won't light, or stay lit, it needs a new thermocouple.

Testimonial: "Where can I buy one. And are they universal size or do I need a model number for my Vulcan. Also can you please explain step by step how to change it. Gas scares me a bit. And not sure if I need to shut of gas to change thermocouple. Thank you for your help"

SOURCE: premier 30 inch gas stove oven does not light

do you hear any clicking when you try to start the oven portion of the range? if not lets try this, open the lower drawer so you can see the burner bar and mechanism for lighting the bake bar. as your watching the mechanism turn on the oven (nothing should happen as per your issue) while oven is on try lighting one of the top burners, any one will do wanna check if that lites the spark and in turn lites the oven pilot.if that does infact work you have a bad spark switch for the oven control

Heater serial # 3687823 was working fine then just stopped. cant get it to light now

if the pilot lights when held but wont stay lit, the thermocouple is shot, local hardware stores sell universal thermocouples. self explanatory to replace. if even when pressing the button the pilot doesn't light there is a blockage in the gas line or control valve. that needs a pro to fix.

There's a little screw that adjusts the pilot light. It is usually on the block with all the other valves. Follow the pilot lite supply line to where the screw probably is located.

Vulcan oven pilot light how to relight

Hello Lynne,
To relight the pilots, start by removing the floor of the oven, then remove the small access panel below the doors. On the main oven burner will be a small pilot burner that probably looks something like this 10_26_2011_9_29_16_pm.jpg
on the gas valve behind that small panel under the doors will be a red button, push that red button and hold it in while lighting that pilot burner...continue tohold that red button for 30 seconds, release it and the pilot should be lit.
Good luck,GENE

I have an old Vulcan 6 burner commercial gas stove with a 24" griddle. The gas was turned off during a remodel. Now the gas is back on and the gas burners work fine but I cannot get the oven pilot light to...

Hi- This should have a gas Safety Valve, this is the main valve to the oven (this probably has 2). If you remove the lower panel under the doors they are probably right there. Looks like a large gas valve with a button on it, sometimes the button is red. You need to hold in that button while lighting the pilot and keep holding it in for a few seconds until the thermocouple gets hot enough to tell the valve to keep the pilot on. You'll have to do this for both ovens if there are 2 valves. It's possible the valves are located somewhere else on the range so you may have to hunt a bit. If the pilots still won't stay lit you may need new thermocouples in which case I'd call a Tech out to look at it. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

One of the top burner pilot lights will not stay

You probably have grease that has gotten into the pilot. Turn off the gas to the pilot and detach the pilot tubing and pilot tip. It sometimes helps to take a propane torch and heat up the pilot tip and tubing, paying special attention to the first bend from the pilot tip. Get it red hot and tap out any ash from the inside. You may have to **** out the tubing with a piece of bare wire or blow it out with WD-40. With the oven pilot, check the pilot flame. If low, adjust. If OK, replace the thermocouple. If neither of these corrects the problem, replace the pilot satety. I always recommend a new thermocouple with a new pilot safety.

Light pilot on Royal deep fryer. Pilot will not stay lit. Second fryer has larger pilot have no trouble keeping it lit. How can I adjust the pilot so that it will stay lit?

there is a small adjustment screw on the gas valve, turn it clockwise to increase pilot,if that does not work the vent cap on the gas regulator on the back of the unit could be stopped up,remove that cap ,clean out or replace unit can operate without it just fine.If you increase the pilot and it still wont stay lit replace the thermocouple
