Replace tine shaft oil seals - Junior model

How do I remove the tine shaft oil seals on a Troy-Bilt Junior V (Mod # 15006, S/N M0104189)? The outside of the tine drive housing has a silver-colored disc about 45 mm in diameter. Does this disc come off to allow access to the seals? If so, what tool should be used to remove the disc? If not, how are the seals accessed?

I cannot get my oil seals of my rear tine tiller It is a Troy Bilt 5.5 hp and I got the left side off but the right side tine attachment will not budge any suggestions please

Have you tried soaking the shaft area with either PB Blaster or Deep Creep penetrating oil. Try this for a few days before trying to tackle getting the tine attachment off.

I need to replace the seals on my Troy-Built Pony tiller. 6 hp, ser.# 121811201149. I can not seem to remove the tine shafts. I have pulled the bolt thru the shaft but cannot budge it. Does anyone know...

I presume you opened the port and removed the grade 8 placement bolt? If you have then you need to polish the shafts with 400 then 800 sandpaper, clean then lube them before trying to slide thru the support bearings. If your tine shaft is bent? your screwed, or just remove the shaft seals with a screwdriver and replacing them without removing the shaft. REmember to put a thin coat od RTV arround the outer lip to help make a better seal

Troy bilt pony left side tine assembly fell off

sounds like the shaft is either bent,or the inside diameter is worn and the shaft tube needs to be replaced.

Leaks oil around the tines.

an new oil seal needs to be put onto the output shaft of the transmission.  remove the plug wire if you attempt to pry out the old seal and tap in the new seal.  Be careful not to damage the case and grease the seal and shaft when you replace the oil seal

How to remove rear tines to replace seals ?

The tines sometimes get frozen to the shaft. You might try penatrating oil and use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat to loosen.
Also tap wiht a hammer around shaft.

Oil seal for rear tine shaft

The serial number is located on a flat spot just above the right wheel shaft where the gear housing and the top gear cover meet. It will be a six digit number stamped in the metal.

Wheel shaft seals on troy bilt pony 7 hp.

If the seal fits over the axle shaft it should be ok. be sure your axles are very clean as not to ruin the new seals when applying them. probably a good idea to replace them as a pair (right and left side) to save you time down the road.
