Wow. Absolutely right. My Accugreen 1000 is over 10 years old and the handle broke. Not only are they sending one free but the service was great from Amanda. And she doesn't live in India. Good for Scotts.
I called the number given by "happyjay" (888-270-3714). My "trigger control" mechanism broke where it meets the "micrometer rate setting barrel". Scotts is sending the entire assembly, including the upper part of the handle, for free. I called today and they gave 7-10 days on delivery. The part ships from Ohio. This is for an AccuGreen 3000 that was bought in 1997. Great service!
Awesome. I just called the number given by happyjay above and got great help. I have a Speedy Green broadcast spreader I bought in 1994. The impeller is stripped, so it no longer disperses product in a wide band. They are sending me a new part for free, as well as another set of plastic wing nuts for the handle. Great service!

I have is scotts lawn spreader 3000 . the part I think I need is lever that attaches on the middle handle and go's to open the bottom to drop seed & etc.
The handle broke on my Scott's spreader so I called the number posted by happyjay and, since they no longer have the part, they are sending me a check to purchase a new spreader!

just called Scott's and they are sending me a refund check also to purchase a new spreader, i have a broken handle and the parts are no longer available, that's customer service...
after reading these comments, I decided to call the toll free number above (888-270-3714) because the spring on my spreader broke. They don't make the model I have so they are sending me a refund check to purchase a new spreader....it really works.

The edgegaurd handle control of my Deluxe Edgeguard spreader broke off. I called (877-465-5160) for a replacement part and received great help from Michelle. She was very patient and thorough. Unfortunately they did not have the part I needed but was offered a refund. I did not think to ask how much the refund is for. The spreader was purchased back around 2009. I will give an update with final results.

As all the comments about the customer service - if you broke your lever or any parts on your Scotts Accugreen drop feeder, call 877-465-5160. The customer service is unbelievable. This number is also for Canadian owners of Scotts products. I love that feeder as I use it twice a year and it has been absolutely accurate and greens up the lawn perfectly with their prescribed micro-adjustment amounts. I don't believe any other company can match what Scotts have for customer service.
Our 3000 trigger control broke, and we just spoke to Customer Service at this number 877-465-5160. We got speedy, polite service, and they are sending us a new upper handle and control free of charge, 7-10 days delivery. Props to Elena, the person we spoke to.

I found drop-rate tables at http://www.vigoro.com/ProductCategories/WeedInsectControl/SummerFertilizer/ProductDetails/Spreader+Settings.htm and http://www.bayeradvanced.com/media/productlabel/502840A_label.pdf. I don't know how accurate they are, but they are consistent with one another so I'm using them :)
If the product you are planning on applying has a spreader setting for a Scotts AccuGreen, or specifically for the AccuGreen 3000; you can use that recommendation in your Turf Builder Classic Drop Spreader. If they do not have a suggested spreader setting for the Accugreen, or Accugreen 3000 settings then this question would best be answered by calling Scotts directly @ 1-800-543-8873.
