Change homepage on mac

Your homepage is the page that normally appears when you first open Safari.

  1. Open Safari if it is not already open.
  2. Choose Safari > Preferences, and then click General.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To use the page in the current Safari window or tab, click "Set to Current Page."
    • To use another page, type its address in the Homepage field.
    • To use a blank page, delete the contents of the Homepage field so that the field is blank.
  4. If you also want the homepage to appear whenever you open a new Safari window, choose Homepage from the "New windows open with" pop-up menu.
Good Luck!

Cannot quit safari before beginning this update

Thank you for contacting Fixya Support

In order to quit Safari before updating, if the web browser cannot be closed normally, you can simply perform a Force Quit by pressing the Apple Command Key + Option Key + the Esc Key and this will bring a window up displaying all currently open applications including Safari.

If you see that Safari is listed in that window, it should have a "Not responding" tag next to its name.
Simply click on the Safari name and press the Force Quit button and it will close out the Safari application.

If you require more information or assistance with this issue, please don't hesitate to reply to this post.

Safari cannot find the Internet plug-in. The page ?TV & Radio? has content of MIME type ?application/x-mplayer2?. Because you don?t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can?t be...

What i am assuming, is that you are running a mac. Safari tends to be part of the mac operating system. There is use to be safari for PC, but apple removed support for it, you can technically use the browser on PC, just the old unpatched one (highly not recommended).

1) Run a mac OS update, generally the update section is in the apple app store. See if there is any updates for Safari as well for the MAC OS, update and see if it resolves the issue.

2) More or less if the OS/Safari is slightly older, the app store will auto detect if your current MAC can be upgradable to the new OS with the missing plug in for safari, you can do this without losing any files as long as the power adapter is plugged in throughout the entire upgrade process.

I can't have safari

Its simple, just download it off the apple website,
http://www.apple.com/safari/download/
since you on leopard "1.5.2" you may need to run a system update because you should have been updated to 1.5.7 by now
so if safari still does not work that is why, you need to run a system update.
Here is a little guide on how to do that http://www.switchtoamac.com/guides/mac-os-x/software-update/manually-run-software-update-on-mac-os-x-leopard.html
One thing though if your new to mac's the apple menu is the apple icon in the top right corner :D
