SOURCE: How do u turn on and use wifi on Inspiron B130?

There should be a wireless icon next to the time (lower right hand corner of your screen) that you can right-click on and Turn radio on. Hit the function(blue button lower left) and F2 if there is a tower on F2, it may be a differant F number on the top. If that doesnt work, right click my computer and click manage. Then Device monitor, and then click the + next to network adaptors and make sure the wireless symbol doesnt have a symbol on it besides the green chip. If its red its disabled, right click enable. If its yellow you need a driver for it, find it on Support.Dell.com and install the driver.

SOURCE: fn key on dell inspiron 1501 keyboard not working

Sounds like your number lock is on. Find the key with blue lettering that says 'Num Lk' (or something very similar). Press Fn and that key, and your number lock will be turned off and your keys will go back to normal.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: can not get the wifi working on my dell latitude d610

sevendust4li,

I have just had the exact same problem and i just fixed it.

You are best off downloading & installing the Intel Proset/Wireless software. This will fix your problem automatically. Once you do this you have the option of letting windows manage connections for you or just let the software do it. Your choice.

Make sure that you download it from the Dell site though as the drivers on the Intel site are only generic. Dell drivers and software are specific to your laptop and are directly setup for your laptop.

Here is the link for the software I got and i believe you need and let me know how you go mate. Iether click it or cut and paste it into your browser address bar.

Hi

have you had a look on or around the keyboard for a wifi switch it could be a slide or push switch
with a picture on or beside it that looks like a mini satallite dish

have you done all the windows updates

and ii the FN+F2 keys is not working maybe you could try a system restore back to when it was working correctly for you

go to
start
type in system restore
then maybe tick show more restore points
and find one that you think might of been when all was working good

My WiFi light is not lit up on my Inspiron 1520. I cannot detect any wireless networks.

In Dell Inspiron 1520 Notebook, there is a switch on the left hand side of the laptop to enable/ disable Wifi. Make sure that it is on and with wireless light activated - Press and hold Fn and press F2 (Fn+F2). This will enable the wi-fi and you will be able to detect and connect to a wi-fi network

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.

GoodLuck!
Dont forget to appreciate the solution if I could have been of any help!

My Dell Inspiron E1505's wireless switch is off.

This happened to me using a Dell Inspiron laptop. The wireless switch was disabled and the answer was supposed to use both the blue Fn and regular F2 function key to enable wireless connection. I tried Fn and F2 together and it did not work. I tried just F2 alone and it worked.
