We have a Whirlpool Cabrio Top Loading Washer Model WTW6600SW1 in which we just replaced the control panel. The washer will take on water and will go through a wash cycle up to the rinse cycle, where it will drain and spin, but it will not go through the rinse cycle and it leaves the clothes sodden with water. Running a Rinse and Spin will have the washer rinse with the detergent, though it will not spin and drain properly. Using the Spin and Dry option will make the washer spin and drain properly. We ran a diagnostics test on the washer, it went to C1, took on water and finally showed an 'oL' error code, stopping the diagnostics. Would this sound like a problem with the rotor sensor? Or something else? Any help would be appreciated!

SOURCE: washer stops and shows oL over load

The "oL" error code in the Cabrio and Bravo washers means the motor is sensing an overload ("oL") condition. While this could indicate a problem with the motor, it usually doesn't. Most of the time, you'll see this error code when one of two things is going on:

1) There's a piece of clothing stuck between the inner basket and outer tub.

2) The tub is not floating freely, usually because it's seized to the drive shaft by rust and crudus; FYI: this condition is almost always caused by using non-HE detergent in this washer. Also, be aware that, if this is the case, it can be very difficult to remove the basket from a badly corroded drive shaft, could even be a two-man job.

Here is a video to help you get into the machine.

WTW6600SW1 whirlpool cabrio washer keeps giving an F1 error, why??

Hello,

The F1 error means that water pressure into the washer is out of range...the control on the washer learns the water pressure coming in from when it was brand new it is capable of learning just the water pressure to your house since it will vary from your neighbors...after it has learned what the normal pressure is if it doesnt see that normal pressure coming into the washer it will throw up the F1 error code

What to check is if water is coming into the washer from the rubber fill hoses with as much pressure as always did...things that could cause lesser pressure is; kinked/crushed fill hose, sediment built up in the filter screens inside of the water inlet valve( can be checked by turning off water and removing hoses and pop screen out from the back of washer where the hoses connect to)

If the filter screens are clear and water seems to coming from the hoses with good pressure...the washer control board would need to be replaced

Cabrio won't balance even empty

Check the four suspension rods on the outer tub to make sure they are not broken and/or out of placement.
