1st check for food build up under the filter, just shine a flash light through the holes front left side at the edge of your filter. This area is the water intake for the wash arms.

SOURCE: Dishes not thourghly cleaned on top sheelve

generally dishwashers rely on the pressure supplied by the water supply line. check to see if it is enough or if inlet pipe is of sufficient diameter for needed flow.in some instances i know of seperate lines needing to be run directly instead of coming off of supply to sink area.

SOURCE: Dishsoap stays in soap dispenser

We had problems with soap remaining in the dispenser and dishes not getting clean when we used gel dish doap. We changed to the cakes of soap with a Jet Dry Power Ball in the middle, and now they clean fine.

Try this... Wipe out the soap dish with white vinegar and a soft cloth.. make sure you get everything off the edges of the door and look for any nicks, blemishes or deformation of the dispenser door to make sure it is not mechanically binding up when it is cycled open. If Ok.. then.. clean your drain filter.. then.. start a wash cycle using the hottest setting ( without any dishes) .. and after about 10 minutes or so.. stop the process and open the door and add in 2 cups of white vinegar.. Let it complete the wash cycle.. When complete..try running a dishless cycle on any setting with detergent ( use about 1/3 less than you usually use) and see if that dispense adequately. If that works, then the next time you load the washer. make sure you don't have anything up against or limiting the door from opening. Hope this helps..

SOURCE: whirlpool dishwasher wont wash

if the bottom tub is filling with water but not washing the issues is with the wash motor, some of this model use a start capacitor that can fail, if it has a capacitor on the side of the motor it may have failed but are difficult to diagnose but are cheap to replace so worth trying, if this doesn't help or if it doesn't have a capacitor then the fault is with the wash motor.

Testimonial: "I'm going to spend this Sunday morning uninstalling completely and checking out the motor...and...if present....the capacitor. If it has a capacitor I'm going to try replacing that....if not....I'm not going to try replacing the motor... For about $100 more I can buy a bran new dishwaher. This one is only 3 years old....Very disappointed in my first whirlpool product....but a new one could be the way to go. I can install that myself no problem. Thanks so much. I'll let you know if it was the capacitor"

The softner not getting drained only the soap is getting used

Where are you putting the fabric softener and when do you put it in? If your washer has a fabric softener dispenser, use it at the start of your wash. Leave the lid closed until cycle is completed. No dispenser? Pour diluted fabric softener in the rinse cycle or the second time water fills the washer.

Hi I have a Blanco dishwasher BFDw8 which is having poor wash results in the top tray I have tried all the trouble shooting things in manual. Investigated further by opening door during wash cycle several...

  1. Check the water temperature. Should be 125 to 140 F.
  2. Check pump re-circulation., Listen, see if it sounds like it is spraying the water around with enough pressure.
  3. Check water level when the fill cycle has completed. Should be just under the heating element. If not, possibly need to replace the water inlet valve.
  4. Check the spray arm and pump cover for splits or leaks.
  5. Check to make sure dishwasher is draining after each cycle. There should only be a little water in the bottom of the tub.
  6. Make sure the dishes are loaded properly, or dishwasher is not overloaded.
  7. Possibly try a different detergent. Some liquid-gels will bubble and a pump cannot pump bubbles.
Scrape away large pieces of food, bones, pits, toothpicks, etc. Burned on food should be loosened before loading. Empty liquids from glasses and cups. Foods such as mustard, mayonnaise, vinegar, lemon juice and tomato products may cause discoloration of stainless steel and plastics if allowed to sit for a long period of time. Unless the dishwasher is to be operated at once, it is best to rinse off these food soils. Load racks so that large items do not prevent the detergent dispenser from opening. If the dishwasher drains into a food disposer, be sure disposer is completely empty before starting the dishwasher.

I have GE GLDT696TSS. The dishes are not clean and one time noticed water leak from the back of the washer.

You should check the water outlet - probably discharges into your sink through a garbage disposal - the water outlet is likely plugged and water can not discharge down the sink. You can remove the hose and clean it out.

Soap dispenser problem?

Check the water supply. Start cycle then open the door after it fills and check water level and spray action. If everything is soaking wet, there is probablyl a pizza pan blocking the soap tray.

The wash cycle runs and runs.

Most diswashers have a complete cycle that lasts over an hour. The machine fills with about 1.5-2 quarts of water, rinses the dishes for a few minutes, then empties the water, then fills again with new water and rinses for a few more minutes, then empties. This is to get a good bit of the looser gunk off the dishes, and to soften up any other stuff that has dried on there. Then the machine fills a third time, the soap door pops open, and it washes for a much longer time to hopefully dissolve away pretty much anything left on the dishes. Then it empties, and does a rinse the soap off cycle, and usually a final cycle that rinses again with a little bit of rinse agent to help them dry quickly.

The whole process uses about 2 gallons of water.

Dishes come ot just like I put them in

Check that both spray bars are turning. They can both be easily removed.

Once removed, make sure they are not clogged with stuff to prevent them from turning.

I assume you can hear water spraying around inside when it's washing, and that the dishes do get wet, and water does get hot.

Soap dispenser requires water hitting on it to open.

Dishwasher

If you are you using a liquid soap or packets that will be the main problem. If your unit fills with water circulates the water and drains the water, and also heaters are working then you probally need to change to cascade powder soap. The film on the dishes is soap. The unit has so much build up in it that when it gets to the rinse cycle it is rinsing dishes with soapy water. You need to get 2 medium bowls fill both 2/3 up with white vinager, place one in upper rack and one in lower rack and run unit on longest cycle letting the vinager splash out during wash.do this with no soap and no dishes.Having soft water will allow you to use less soap.
